Posted by Tommy on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:15 AM (PST)

Florida power metal band Kamelot have rescheduled their April 22nd show in Paris for April 25th at the Alhambra. The rescheduling comes as a result of the fire. The band has issues a statement regarding the change,

“Unfortunately due to the fire at the Elysée Montmartre, we regret to announce that we have had to reschedule the Kamelot show in Paris. The new date is Monday, April 25th and will take place at the Alhambra. We tried to avoid moving the date but unfortunately no other suitable venues were available on the original night. While the circumstances are obviously beyond our control, we are very sorry for any inconvenience to those of you who had made special arrangements for this date, and hope you will be able to make the new show on the 25th. As we are unable to perform in Paris on the 22nd, Kamelot will headline the famous French festival PRINTEMPS DE BOURGES, Palais d’Auron, on the 22nd. We hope to see you there!”

Goreaphobia To Release New Album

Posted by Christine on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 12:58 PM (PST)

Philadelphia’s Goreaphobia are currently putting the finishing touches on their new full-length titled “Apocalyptic Necromancy”, the band’s follow up to 2009’s “Mortal Repulsion” (Ibex Moon Records). “Apocalyptic Necromancy” was recorded, mixed and mastered by drummer Jim Roe and features new guitarist VJS (Kult ov Azazel, Crimson Moon, Demoncy, etc.).

Comments guitarist Alex Bouks of the band’s latest output: All of us in the Goreaphobia camp are real excited about finishing the new record. The new tunes will once again contain 1000% occult metal nihilism! The only way I can describe our new endeavor is that’s it’s very diverse and takes us back to the band’s roots. Jim has once again recorded and mixed the record at his home studio, Neanderthal. Apocalyptic Necromancy also marks the debut of our new guitar player VJS. There’s a highly positive and magical vibe for the band at the present time. For me, this record is a true progression from the song writing and production on Mortal Repulsion. We hope to have it out soon for all our long time and newer fans.

“Apocalyptic Necromancy” will be released later this year. Further details to be announced soon.

Goreaphobia line-up 2011:
Chris Gamble – Vocals/Bass
Alex Bouks – Guitars
Jim Roe – Drums
VJS – Guitar

Kamelot postpone North American tour due to singer Roy Khan being ill

Posted by Lucas Riot on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 12:51 PM (PST)

Power metal band Kamelot have announced the postponement of their upcoming North American tour due to singer Roy Khan taking ill.  The band has released the following statement:

As many of you know, Roy has fallen ill and could not make the North American tour.

We have been rehearsing like madmen here in Tampa — the band is tighter than ever and Michael from Circus Maximus is truly an amazing singer; if there is one male vocalist in this world who is on par with Roy, it is Michael! However, after today’s rehearsal, we all decided that we do not feel right about doing the North American tour as anything less than a 100% Kamelot Experience. We appreciate that many fans have waited more than 2 years for new material and to see us perform together. Our new album, “Poetry for the Poisoned” represents a labor of love from us, and to present it at anything less than full strength seems a disservice to all involved. Though we will suffer financial losses on this late hour cancellation, we still feel it’s the right decision for us as a band to make – we regret disappointing all those who worked so hard to shape this tour, and especially those fans who were still so willing to come through and support us despite Roy’s absence. We are humbled by that type of support, and we sincerely hope that our return in full form Kamelot strength will be more reward for your unwavering loyalty!  We will reschedule all shows in the near future, once Roy is able to return. Refunds can be obtained at the point of purchase. To thank Michael for his effort, the band will still appear at the soldout Progpower Festival, as a one off show with him and many special guest singers from the festival. Again, we want to thank all of you for your amazing support!!
