LA Weekly posted a really interesting interview with Danzig. The article touches on him getting knocked out, stalkers, action figures and slicing throats. First off Glen Danzig is a fucking legend but this article reeks of bullshit from front to back. You can judge for yourself here.

Album Review: Danzig – “Deth Red Sabaoth”

Posted by MetalRiotJD on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 10:32 AM (PST)

Thank you, Danzig. Thank you for reminding me why I defend your honor whenever anyone wishes to claim that you are past your prime and that you are no longer relevant. While I understand your need to grow and expand your artistic legs since 1994’s “Danzig 4p,” I have missed your classic sound and have been walked away from your albums feeling slighted and disappointed. But damn, you sure know how to redeem yourself.

“Deth Red Sabaoth” features the return of Glen Danzig’s classic howling vocals and the creation of dynamic harmonic layers throughout each track. His sensually silky yet intimidating booming pipes show why he is the Godfather of the gothic metal erotica sound. The thick analog guitar sound he strived hard to achieve creates an ethereal and bluesy environment where memorable riffs screech and wail through the dark stormy woods. From the subtle bass and pounding drum of “Rebel Spirits” to the flanging guitar and threatening whispers of “Ju Ju Bone,” the tempo changes create intimate moments that draw you in as the music breathes down your neck and draw your chest tight. Danzig’s first single, “On a Wicked Night,” opens with a simple clean guitar melody and soft vocals and then at the midway point turns on the distortion and vocal tremolo and bitch slaps you with its awesome might.

So once again, I thank you Danzig for validating my love for your voice and your music. Your epic voice will always be the shining beacon of your sound but on “Deth Red Sabaoth” the full and complete sound that is Danzig has claimed redemption from the naysayers and reaffirms the faith of those that have questioned but never doubted.
