In anticipation of Earth Crisis‘ next record THE DISCIPLINE out this year via the good folks at Bullet Tooth , a few of their friends and biggest fans got together to speak about what the band and music means to them. 20 years after their debut album Destroy The Machines was released, Davey Havok (AFI), Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy), Igor Cavalera (Sepultura), Toby Morse (H2O), Dan Smith (LA Ink), Paul Waggoner (Between The Buried And Me), Peter Young (ALF), and Joel Capolongo (Sea Shepard) discuss those songs, the messages, and the impact Earth Crisis has had on their lives and the straight edge and animal rights movements worldwide. Watch it BELOW.

This is a great reminder of how music can still have important social impact.

Cavalera Conspiracy’s Pandemonium drops November 4th and it is a bold injection of street-wise thrash adrenaline into the bloated heart of music and society (Pre-order the album on Amazon.com.)

“I take it seriously with every record. I don’t get out of the studio unless I am happy with it,” says metal legend Max Cavalera about this third collaboration with brother Igor under the Cavalera Conspiracy banner. “We try and make the fans happy by working hard. I try to make the best record I can make.”

Where Blunt Force Trauma and Inflikted were heavy studio low end killers, Pandemonium is pure, rip roaring chaos. This feels as close to being in a metal riot as anything we have written about on this site. Pure speed, a raw approach and some of the most guttural and at times even industrial/death sounding vocals from Max.

Nate Newton of Converge/Doom Riders lends hoarse screams to “The Crucible” as a vocal guest (and plays bass on the whole record like a beast), put the real core of the album is the ferocious pandemic of Max and Igor blazing with their best feet forward, determined to give the fans a real experience of speed and adrenaline in 2014. Throw in the craziest leads I have ever heard from Soulfly’s Marc Rizzo and you get an explosion of reality. Between this, Savage Messiah, Iron Reagan and the new Exodus, I really can’t complain at all about thrash this year (though I’m pretty sure this takes the cake, in my book).

Yes I am playing bass on the new Cavalera Conspiracy record. No…I am not going to leave Converge. I thought it would be fun to play with the guys who wrote some of my favorite metal records. That’s all…no big story here other than it’s pretty awesome when people who’s music you’ve admired for years ask you to be a part of it with them. I’m honored!”

Max Cavalera in studio with Dillinger Escpae Plan’s Greg Puciato

Posted by KageDrummer on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 3:13 PM (PST)

Frontman for Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy, Max Cavalera, has announced that he will be doing a project with Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato. The duo have already worked together on the song “Rise Of The Fallen” on Soulfly’s last album “Omen.” When reached for comment Max stated:

“Everybody ask me, ‘Hey Max, are you gonna do another Nailbomb?’ and the answer is always No, because we killed Nailbomb on purpose. So when Greg approached me with an idea of a project, I said I’ll do it, but it has to be like Nailbomb. I’m gonna share the vocals with Greg. We’re gonna have a bunch of killer guest musicians, and it’ll be the closest thing to a Nailbomb experience. I promise you it is going to be heavy as fuck, angry as fuck, and aggressive as fuck. Me and Greg are pissed off and we’re coming your way!!!!”
