Carcass and Godflesh Peel Session available this week

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 6:25 AM (PST)

1000x1000

This coming Thursday at 2pm EST, the second release from the Earache Peel Sessions will be available to order from the Earache Webstore. Carcass get the A side and Godflesh the B side and since Peel was an important taste maker and it is an honor to be part of a Peel Session, you know both of these sessions deliver serious fuckin’ aggro goodness. Peel kinda helped Napalm Death gain more notoriety and helped showcase many bands John believed in over the years. And how gnarly is this art?!

As always, make sure you get there quickly if you’d like the most limited color from this vinyl release, as it will sell out quickly!

Madcap death metal murder dawg’s Macabre lead off the news today with announcement of a killer tour with Panzerfaust and Ringworm. The insanity of this tour cannot be denied. Every band is all kill, eat your fill. MACABRE will spread their grisly tales of terror across the country from October third through Halloween night. The trek includes participation in Philip H. Anselmo’s second annual Housecore Horror Film Fest in Austin, alongside Gwar, Voivod, Neurosis, Danzig, Samhain, Eyehategod, Vader, Corrections House, Lustmord and others. Nice to see Macabre get some love again.

Carcass announce US tour with Obituary, Macabre, Exhumed, and Noisem too!

Posted by SeanB on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 6:12 PM (PST)

carcass_inked_in_steel_tour_2014Well this is exciting (if you don’t live where I do anyways).  Pioneering grindcore band Carcass have just announced a three week US tour covering a bunch of the areas that they missed last time around…and they’re bringing Exhumed and Noisem with them!  Obituary will be with them for most of the dates too with Macabre picking up where they leave off.  This is one badass lineup and if you live anywhere near one of these shows you need to go so I can live vicariously through someone.

For a complete list of dates and who’s going to be at each show click right here.

The tour is being called “Inked In Steel 2014” and even though the year is almost over, this looks like it might be one of the best so far.  Carcass released their sixth studio album called Surgical Steel earlier this year to stellar reviews. It was their first release since 1996’s Swansong.  Also, Hopefully Obituary have found the douche/douches who stole their backdrop while they were in Holland or at least have a new one by now.

It’s official: Carcass are working on new album

Posted by Metal Dude on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 7:19 PM (PST)

In response to last Friday’s reportsCarcass bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker recently told Decibel magazine that the band is officially working on a new album. Participating on the recording of the record are Walker on both bass and vocals, Bill Steer on guitar and Daniel Wilding on drums. A second guitarist will be added on their future tour.

On why Carcass, who reunited a couple years ago, decided to make a new album, Jeff stated, “Good timing, eh? Twenty-five years we first recorded Reek Of Putrefaction. The incentive was off Bill. I’d verbally expressed an interest in doing something but I needed Bill to have the desire and hunger again and that’s exactly what has happened. He recalled watching Dan Wilding play on tour with us in 2008 and something about him struck a chord and he wanted to work with him. There was something about him that kind of reminded him of Ken, on a personal level as much as his playing. We’ve done this recording firstly for ourselves—there’s no label backing even as you read this—in fact me and Bill have spent a small fortune out of our pocket to see this through—it’s more of an artistic/personal statement than anything.”

Then he added, “We’ve taken stylistic cues from all the albums because it’s in our blood, but it’s no rehash or mess of ideas. I think it sounds almost like the missing link between the third and forth albums but with some groove in there. I’ve jokingly christened some parts ‘Trad Blast’ and some ‘Death Sleaze’… don’t think for a minute this is just some nostalgic throwback album—we’re setting up another 17 years of ideas for other bands to copy and clean up on [laughs].”

Carcass’ last studio album, Swansong, came out on Earache Records in 1996, the same year they split up.

New Carcass album in the works?

Posted by Metal Dude on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 7:56 PM (PST)

Carcass have apparently been in the studio putting the finishing touches on their first LP in over 15 years, with Colin Richardson producing it. They have yet to secure a label home for the effort, which is expected in early 2013. This indicates that they are no longer signed to Earache Records, which released all of their previous albums.

In order to promote their “new album”, Carcass are in the process of booking a number of live shows for next year, including appearances at Maryland Deathfest and Chile’s Metal Fest. The band, who reunited in 2007, last toured in 2010.

Carcass’ last studio album, Swansong, came out on Earache Records in 1996, the same year they split up.
