Detroit melodic death metal band The Black Dahlia Murder has premiered their new song “Raped In Hatred By Vines Of Thorn” via Revolver Magazine. The song is off their upcoming album Everblack. The song is an ode to one of frontman Trevor Strnad’s favorite horror movies, Evil Dead.Add to My Radar
Detroit melodic death metal outfit The Black Dahlia Murder have released the first single from their upcoming album Everblack. The record will be the band’s sixth studio release and is due out this coming June 11, 2013 on Metal Blade Records. The album art was painted by artist Nick Keller, with recording being completed at Audiohammer Studios (lead guitars and vocals), Rustbelt Studios (drums), and Regal Fecal (guitar and bass). Mixing was handled by Jason Suecof and Ryan Williams, while mastering was completed by Alan Douches at West Westside.
The first single is called “Into The Everblack” and can be found right here.
Vocalist Trevor Strnad recently had the following to say about Everblack’s lyrical concepts:
“The opening track is the first actual song we’ve done about the Black Dahlia. This one is for the fans… they’ve been asking for this to happen for a long time. The story takes place at the Elizabeth Short’s rain drenched funeral, where her killer in attendance… just one of the many macabre tales woven into the fabric of Everblack. Subterranean flesh-farming vampires, vine rape, Jeffery Dahmer, amputation… it’s all here! With this sixth slab of sickness I tried my best to honor the band’s legacy and write lyrics that will keep the legions of horror fiends perspiring with fear.”Add to My Radar

I think it’s safe to say that all of us in TBDM have attended this tour at various points and have fond memories of this great American punk rock freak show. This time, we shall be the freaks…the sore thumb poking at your eyeball. We are proud to be the fastest, craziest, and most evil band that has ever played Warped Tour…hundreds of bands will enter, one band will leave. Us. We will emerge from the rubble like the giant cockroach men we are. See ya this summer…let’s get warped!!!

Vocalist Trevor Strand had these comments:
“Well kids, enough with all the secrets… it’s about time we in The Black Dahlia Murder clue you fans in and tell all about our recent hush hush bassist situation… I’m sure some of you who have seen us on tour in the last months have grown curious as to who this mystery man bass extraordinaire could be and have wondered what long time bassist Ryan “Bart” Williams could be up to. After months of tip-toeing around it, we’ve decided to break the silence and let you guys know the truth.”

Salutations once again cretins. I sat down with The Black Dahlia Murder‘s guitarist Ryan Knight and drummer Shannon Lucas to get some thoughts on natural disasters, DrawSomething and increasing their audience reach. Their most recent release, Ritual, has gained them a great deal more spotlight and I hoped to uncover what they plan on doing to continue that momentum. I then realized at the show later that night, their loyal fans are what keeps them going.

Here’s yet another deft description of my darling and I’s many death metal date nights. The destination for this evening of ear-splitting enchantment was to be Irving Plaza in New York City, The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile, and Skeletonwitch our marks. Inside was deceptively small, but not overflowing with heads. We managed to navigate quite nicely through the various merch tables, though lacking a fair amount of brutality in the wears. As for the show, we arrived just in time for Skeletonwitch to take the stage thrusting me right into photo mode in front of the Garnette brothers. Bring it on.
A full debrief over the show and some shitty amazing pictures await you on the next page.Add to My Radar

“We are truly honored to be considered for the lineup of the first ever Orion festival. Metallica is one of the bands biggest influences…to say we are excited would be a major understatement. We will do our best to crush Atlantic City in their honor… Hails!”

The Black Dahlia Murder are gracing us with a new video for the song “Moonlight Equilibrium” from their 2011 Metal Blade release Ritual. The video showcases a lot of early horror movie style imagery set in a Victorian time period. The results blend nicely with their style of metal.

Gold are really good. You should listen to them. I classified them in our power metal category only because if Gold played power metal that would actually maybe be the weirdest experimental music ever and very rad. They DO play their own awesome kind of music, which is different than what many bands are doing. Optimist has some sweet jams. "White Noise" has a great intro. Prepare to be melted in a metallic wash of BM, post-rock and plaintive melodic musings.
