Bring Me The Horizon have a new single for ya, “Drown,” which will officially be released on December 7. I like these Yorkshire boys and think that they give it hard on stage, where it matters most. They have drive and don’t deserve to drown. We are real quick to tear one another down. Heavy music needs to evolve and be vetted and critiqued, sure…but we also need to support the scene together in its’ various forms. I’m bringing this up because of the big national news today in American college football about the racism faced recently from haters and rivals of Devin Gardner and also because I can’t believe I am writing a BMTH article to distract myself from how bummed I am about Tyson from Scary Kids dying and also some potential trouble in the Skeletonwitch ranks (they cancelled their Albany date and have been playing as a 4 piece). Thank God that Exodus have cracked the U.S. Billboard top 40 with their new record (a miracle of thrash justice). But seriously, let’s be happy for heavy bands that can inspire like BMTH and bring people together. This video has some cool twists and is fun, even as the song is moody and lonely as heck at times.

Sempiternal-300x300It seems that Bring Me The Horizon are still in a giving mood. After pushing the release date for their new record Sempiternal up to April 2 (out via Epitaph)  in response to its leak and after putting the whole album up for streaming, they just released another track from the deluxe edition of the record called “Deathbeds.” The track is one of 3 previously unreleased tracks from that edition of the album, and it features guest vocals from Oliver Sykes’ girlfriend, Hannah Snowdon. You can check it out here.

Sempiternal-300x300After the album leaked sometime last week a whole two months before its original release date, British deathcore staples Bring Me The Horizon have moved the release date for their new full-length, Sempiternal (via Epitaph), to April 2.

The band also decided to post the entire album for streaming, which you can find here.

“Due to overwhelming and phenomenal demand, Sempiternal will be with you sooner than you thought, we are glad you have heard and & love it and all we can ask is if you enjoy this album you’ll help the band continue to make records and buy it when it’s released officially,” said lead vocalist Oliver Sykes.

Bring Me The Horizon will be headlining the Warped Tour all summer.

Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes attacked onstage

Bring Me The Horizon band photoOli Sykes, the frontman for metalcore outfit Bring Me The Horizon, was attacked onstage during the band’s show in Salt Lake City on October 3.

Not surprisingly Sykes became angry after bottles were thrown at him and the band midshow so he invited the perps to either leave or address him personally onstage.  Probably not the outcome he expected but some of the dudes actually jumped up on stage and chaos shortly ensued.  Sykes wasn’t harmed during the attack and after the incident returned to the stage to finish the set.

Read his blog statement and see the video of the attack here.

Architects beginning North American Tour

Posted by Josh on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 2:42 PM (PST)

After decimating stages throughout Europe with blistering sets at this year’s Nova Rock, Hove, Peace & Love and Sonisphere Festivals, Architects (UK) takes the main stage at this weekend’s storied Reading and Leeds Festivals.  Following those two sure-to-be-incendiary shows, the band hops across the pond to make their long-awaited return to US soil. They will be heading out with Bring Me The Horizon and Parkway Drive for a North American tour that will last a little over a month and will see the band traversing the United States and Canada.  Starting on August 31st in San Diego, CA, and wrapping up on October 4th in Las Vegas, NV, this will be the first time the band plays the US in support of their most recent record, the critically-acclaimed The Here And Now, released earlier this year.

Bring Me The Horizon drummer breaks hand while playing soccer

Posted by Ehrila on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 6:26 AM (PST)

Bring Me The Horizon drummer Matt Nicholls broke his hand during a game of soccer with Parkway Drive and Architects members. BMTH are currently on tour, and as Matt Nicholls wont be able to play, Architects drummer Dan Searle will be filling in on the remaining dates.

Matt Nicholls comments on the accident:

“It were a lovely day so members of BMTH, Parkway Drive and Architects decided to play footy and I made the stupid mistake of going in the net. The ball came to me and I knocked it away with my hands and Winston from Parkway Drive clipped my hand with his foot and there you have it, one broken hand.”

“I have to see a specialist in Sheffield to see if I need surgery or not but I’m not gonna be picking up drum sticks for about 6 weeks. It was an accident and you know, shit happens but I’ll tell you now, it’s the last time I wear gardening gloves in the net!”
