Canadian heavy metal trio CAULDRON will drop their New Gods full-length this Friday via The End Records in North America and Dissonance Productions in Europe. Crowned, “a classic heavy metal ripper,” by Metal Injection, the band’s fifth full-length and follow up to the acclaimed 2016 offering In Ruin was captured by Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Wooden Sky) at Union Sound in Toronto and again highlights the band’s now-signature strong emphasis on songwriting and melody, complete with high-end organic production to match.

Stream New Gods in full alongside an interview with frontman Jason Decay courtesy of New Noise Magazine, at THIS LOCATION.

CAULDRON’s New Gods will be available on CD, digital, and vinyl formats. For preorders go to THIS LOCATION.

In conjunction with the release of New Gods, CAULDRON will be playing a handful of US shows in with support provided by (the quite excellent) Barrow Wight this week. Friday the 13th Finishing Moves: Cauldron, Woe

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 12:43 PM (PST)

Hey there ya headbanging tree-huggers, if you can’t be in London protesting Trump or can’t fit into a  soon to be outlawed as “Antifa” Jason Voorhees mask you might as well hang out here with us at Metal Riot. So let’s get this party started!!! Are you excited? No? You ought to be. New music time!

New Gods is the forthcoming new full-length from Canadian heavy metal trio CAULDRON. Slated to drop September 7th via The End Records in North America and Dissonance Productions in Europe, the band’s fifth full-length and follow up to the critically-lauded 2016 album In Ruin was captured by Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Wooden Sky) at Union Sound in Toronto.

This band always delivers in the larger than life memorable song department and pack a punch, so I am really looking forward to them giving us new stuff. “Letting Go” gets your blood running from the get-go with an incredible intro riff and plenty of thrills for classic metal types and Sabbath disciples. This song reminds me of a mix of Vol. 4 and Seventh Star through the Cauldron vapors.

In advance of its release, Decibel offers up a first taste of the record with “Letting Go.”

Offers founding vocalist/bassist Jason Decay, “‘Letting Go’ is one of the first tracks that came together for the new record. We really couldn’t deny the melody found in this song and I think somehow it still sounds very CAULDRON… once in a while you just have to rock and roll the bones. I am very proud of the songwriting, performances, and production on this one,” he continues, “and it is definitely the most confident I have been in a finished album of ours. It’s dark, it’s heavy, and it has a very melodic sense of AOR. I’m pretty sure people who were into In Ruin will like this one just as much if not more!”

Hear “Letting Go” at Decibel at THIS LOCATION.

Black metal force to be reckoned with Woe are a bright light in a dark genre, one of the most rewarding acts in extreme metal. We stan 2017 return to the fray Hope Attrition almost as much as Chinese Democracy around here, which is to say…a bunch! Seriously, they are brilliant and fierce, pushing their art further into blackened hallways of rebirth and the strive for something tangibly real. Love it.

The band have announced a twelve day tour that begins in Colorado Springs on September 15th, my sister Cambria’s birthday (incidentally). Joining Woe for the tour will be Greenville, SC grinding death metal outfit, WVRM.

“Wvrm is a band that brings an uncompromising AGGRESSION that we truly appreciate and connect with. We’re glad to be fighting on their side” comments WOE frontman, Chris Grigg.

Cauldron announce Myles Deck as new drummer

Posted by Fireball13 on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 9:32 AM (PST)

Toronto heavy metallers Cauldron have announced that Myles Deck is the band’s new permanent drummer. Deck has spent much of his life playing in bands in Halifax, Nova Scotia including blackened thrashers Hellacaust as well as fronting a Detroit-style punk rock outfit called Myles Deck And The Fuzz. He replaces Cauldron’s former drummer, Chris Steve.

The drums for the band’s new album, Tomorrow’s Lost, were recorded by Chris Rites (Crystal Castles). The new album is due to be released in October via Earache Records.

Cauldron bassist/vocalist Jason Decay had this to say about Deck joining the band: “Rather than just grab the next available drummer, we wanted to take our time this time and make sure we found the right guy, which we’re pleased to announce is Myles Deck. Myles moved halfway across the country from Moncton, New Brunswick, which shows his dedication. He’s also into a lot of the same bands as us and understand our vision and goals. He’s also tall so we won’t have to prop him up on a stool for band photos! We wish Chris Steve all the best with his new band Old James (heavy Skynyrd), and would like to thank Chris Rites for helping us out again with the new record.”

Myles Deck adds: “I was vacationing in Moncton, New Brunswick, catching some rays on the shore of the Petitcodiac when I got ‘the call’. I love the kind of music that makes you wanna bang your head or thrust your hips. I’d seen Cauldron a handful of times and they made me wanna do both. So I sold most of my belongings and moved up to Toronto to play drums for this great band. I’m absolutely chuffed to be playing with Cauldron and look forward to spending many gruelling hours in the van and studio together.”

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:32 AM (PST)

CauldronCanadian heavy metal band Cauldron have announced their new drummer Myles Deck. The line up on drums for Cauldron reads like a Telemundo script, the original drummer Al Chambers left the band in 2008 and was replaced by Steelrider from Goat Horn who was then replaced by Chris Rites. Chris Rites left in 2009 and was replaced by Chris Steve until 2011 and then Chris Rites came back to record the bands upcoming album Tomorrow’s Lost and now they have Myles. I think that covers it. You can read quotes from Myles and frontman Jason Decay here.
