Wolf and the boys in Accept have done it again. I have been eagerly waiting for Blind Rage, the follow up to Stalingrad that comes out this Aug. 19th on Nuclear Blast. It is fair to say that “Final Journey”, the latest track from the record, is pretty much a perfect heavy metal song.  Mark Tornillo owns this vocal performance like it is the most important thing he has ever sung and the band are on FIRE. The pre-solo section into the solo is especially invigorating. This pumped me up!!

Today, NPR premieres the new ACCEPT song “Final Journey” from Blind Rage, saying, “it is surprising to hear Edvard Grieg’s “Morning Mood” in the last minutes of “Final Journey,” especially pitting Grieg’s theme that conjures spring and new-ness to a song about death.” Check out the NPR premiere of ACCEPT’s “Final Journey” now at THIS location.

Accept have unleashed their “Stampede” music video, which is more epic than even that Metallica song “IDisappear” that sounded like Godsmack and was in the Mission Impossible movie. You can watch Accept get real gnarly and outdoorsy HERE. Blind Rage track names also included.

Accept admit to “Blind Rage”, new album due August 15th

Heavy Metal tough guys ACCEPT will release their new album Blind Rage on August 15 via Nuclear Blast Records. The influential group’s 14th studio album was produced by renowned audio engineer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Napalm Death, Opeth) and is the follow-up to 2012’s Stalingrad, which debuted at #81 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was hailed as “brilliant” and a record that “the traditional metalhead will really cherish” by Goldmine.

The first single from Blind Rage, “Stampede”, will precede the full-length album on July 11, available digitally and as a limited vinyl edition. The band recently filmed a video for “Stampede”, which will make its online premiere this summer.

“Whatever we do on record, it’s there for eternity,” says ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann. “If you do something great it’s not something people throw away tomorrow. Songs we wrote 30 years ago are still loved by fans today. That teaches you to be careful with what you release and make sure you like it yourself. With Blind Rage, we have a collection of songs with the classic ACCEPT feel, and — as always — there’s an overriding theme of aggression and rage in our music.” “Otherwise, it wouldn’t be metal,” he concludes.

Accept to begin work on album number 14 soon

Posted by Metal Dude on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 6:23 AM (PST)

German heavy metal legends Accept are set to enter the studio to begin work on their next album, which will be their fourteenth one in their career, soon. Guitarist Wolf Hoffmann states:

“We’re currently gathering material. We’re writing stuff actively, so give us a few more months, and hopefully, by the end of the year, we’ll have enough material to actually start working on a new studio album. But it won’t be long. I can’t guarantee when exactly it’s gonna be happening, but we wanna definitely go back to the studio as soon as we can.”

The album will be the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed Stalingrad, which was the follow-up to their 2010 reunion album Blood of the Nations.

Finnish epic doom metal collective Swallow The Sun are streaming a new track from their soon to be released (in North America) album Emerald Forest and the Blackbird. The song is called “Labyrinth of London (Horror Pt. IV)” and you can find it streaming by clicking right here. Emerald Forest and the Blackbird is set for a September 4, 2012 Spinefarm Records release in North America and has already received much acclaim since it’s recent release in Europe.

Swallow The Sun has had a long running lyrical connotation with the television series Twin Peaks and this song is no exception.  The band recently quoted the series when asked about the track:  “Dark. Laughing. The owls were flying. Many things were blocked. Laughing. The owls were near. The dark was pressing in on her. Quiet then. Later, footsteps. One man passed by. Screams far away. Terrible, terrible. One voice.”

In support of the album Swallow The Sun will be embarking on fall North American tour with German metal legends Kreator and Accept.  The tour is being called The Teutonic Terror Attack and additional support will come from Canadian death metal group Blackgaurd.

I expect the “Bang Your Head” to be both the ending and the highlight of ACCEPT’s exciting comeback.
