NO SLEEP FOR THE WICKED
Atrocity & Leaves’ Eyes across Latin America 2015
A report by Liv Kristine

14. May
San Salvador, El Salvador, greeted us with warm weather and sunshine. Great to have a nap at the hotel’s pool. The friendly staff provided us with coconut-pineapple-mango juice non stop. After three espressos on top our promoter team picked us up to take us to the venue. We knew it would be hot, but that gig was one big sauna! Two very friendly police officers paid us a visit, however, not to tell us about restrictions; they were interested in Joris’ blast beat drumming and life on the road, moreover, life in Europe. We were very happy to meet & greet out metal audience in El Salvador for the first time. In the backyard of the venue the mangoes were falling down every 2 minutes as we were taking photos and doing signings every. I wish this sweet, awesome fruit would grow in my own garden!

To be continued!

Epic symphonic soundtracked battle and the ethereal vocals of Liv Kristine combine for a Norse-themed adventure video in the new, quite elaborate lyric video for Leaves’ Eyes new album’s title track. Make all the LARP jokes you like, but this band remains one of the best and most pro at what they do. Few but the most cynical will fail to be swept up at the 3:26 mark when the song leaps up a notch, Liv’s voice reaching for the stratosphere as A. Krull and the rest of the band march on to “reign invincible”.

Dear fans and friends,
here it is the official lyric video for the title song of our new album, “King Of Kings”. Enjoy, share & help us spreading the word! “King Of Kings” is out now in Europe and will be released in North America this Friday (September 18th)!

Interview: Leaves’ Eyes- The Mysteries Of “Meredead”

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 7:58 PM (PST)

Liv Kristine and her heralded symphonic metal group Leaves’ Eyes have released their finest, most realized work yet with the band’s current (and fourth) record MEREDEAD.

A lush and vibrant album that surpasses the rest of the band’s previous (yet still compelling) output, MEREDEAD is rich with everything from Old-English and Norwegian passages to every instrument you can think of and many guest contributors including Maite Itoiz and John Kelly (Elfenthal), Carmen Elise Espenæs (Midnattsol), Anette Guldbrandsen, and Viktor Smolski’s Lingua Mortis Orchestra. Metal Riot spoke with Liv about crafting such an elaborate record full of living mythology, cathartic harmony and musical showmanship. MEREDEAD is a band game changer like Iced Earth’s THE CRUCIBLE OF MAN, an example of an already beloved group raising the bar and using every tool at their disposal to realize their transformative artistic vision.

Click HERE to read a discussion with Liv about the poetic, epic and romantic “deadly sea” of MEREDEAD.

Leaves’ Eyes Vocal Collabs for Forthcoming “Meredead”

Posted by jillettinger on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 12:46 PM (PST)

Fans awaiting the April 22nd Leaves’ Eyes release on Napalm Records now have another reason to check it out: The last Metal Female Voices Fest brought together an intense union between Leaves’ Eyes Liv Kristine Espenæs Krull and Elfenthal’s Maite Itoiz, resulting in several heavenly duets on the album, including the title track, “Meredead.”

Says the band in a blog post on MySpace, “The angelique voice of Liv in contrast with the lyric soprano voice of Maite, blending and mixing with each other like waves, are like heads and tales of a same siren being, like the one that welcomes us into an ancient grave-sea, in the cover of the album. The Viking and Basque alliance just begun!”
