Frontman/bassist Marcel Scirmer stated the followin about the album:
“For this anniversary album we did a really great job, our new drummer Vaaver opens up new possibilities of course. On this album there are no limits. So fast, brutal and yet groovy we haven’t ever sounded, probably! Also the guest musicians are very special this time: with Gerre (Tankard) and Tom Angelripper (Sodom) our old friends and companions are with us, the original “Mad Butcher/Release from Agony” – line up is doing one song and with Ol Drake (Evile) we got the hottest young thrash guitarist for a few solos on the album!”

Album Review: Destruction – “Day of Reckoning”

Posted by Darklord on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 7:15 PM (PST)

“Day Of Reckoning” is the 11th studio album by the German thrash-metal band Destruction. It’s also the debut of their new drummer Vaaver. The thrash-metal veterans decided to give the album a bit of a different approach compared to their 2008 record “D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.” with intentions to satisfy the old-school Destruction fans.

The album is definitely worth listening to. “Day Of Reckoning” begins with “The Price” which kicks off with Mike Sifringer’s classic guitar riffs and drumming on the behalf of Vaaver who does not have a problem filling in Marc Reign’s shoes. Schmier’s vocal strength is just as prominent as in “D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.”.

Check out the full review here.

German thrash metalers Destruction were recently filmed at Atak in Enschede, The Netherlands, this past week. The footage, shot by fans attending the festival, are of the songs “Thrash Till Death” and “Mad Butcher.” Click here to watch both videos.

The band’s latest album “Day of Reckoning” was released in Europe on February 18th, and in the States on March 8th through Nuclear Blast. You can watch the video for the first single “Hate Is My Fuel” here.

German thrash metalers Destruction‘s latest album “Day of Reckoning” had its European release this weekend on February 18th through Nuclear Blast. The album has an upcoming scheduled U.S. release on March 8th. Alongside the European release, Destruction posted the video for the second song off the album, “Hate Is My Fuel”. Click here to watch it.

Commented mainman Schmier: “Hate Is My Fuel” is the slogan of Destruction. So we kept this video clip as authentic as possible: Aggressive live feeling mixed with a critical look towards the manipulating media-world, in the tradition of classical thrash videos from our era! Dive into the moshpit and scream along if you are a real thrasher, I hope you will have as much fun as we had filming it! Thanx to the kids at the new years eve show in Switzerland for the kick ass background!
