WOVENWAR are excited to return to Europe in May for a club tour as direct support to SYLOSIS! Tickets and dates are listed now on wovenwar.com/tour.

Comments the band: “If we lads in Wovenwar had a pence for every great show memory experienced in the Europe, our trousers’d be loaded with one or two quid… each. Off our trolleys in enthused anticipation of our upcoming tour, we look forward to performing many more wonderful moments with you lot. Cheers!”

I was just talking to a dude in the crowd at Yob/Enslaved in NYC who had a Sylosis t-shirt about how unbelievably good their latest Dormant Heart is (especially that end riff of “Leech”). Wovenwar, of course, are the As I Lay Dying guys moving forward with Shane Blay on vocals post-Lambesis family tragedy. Their debut was one of 2014’s most inspired records in the face of tremendous pressure and I have the utmost respect for the guys. I’m a big fan and you should be too!

Lamb of God returned to Manhattan this past Friday with special guests, In Flames, Sylosis, and – appearing only on the first two dates of the tour – Hatebreed (Hell Yeah replaces Hatebreed for the remainder of the tour.) This would actually have been Lamb of God’s second NYC show, but, due to singer Randy Blythe’s incarceration earlier this year in Prague, their first tour with Dethklok and Gojira, as well as the Mayhem Cruise, which they had been set to headline, was canceled.

Metalheads everywhere were eager for the chance to see Blythe back onstage where he belongs, and on November 16th 2012, it all went down at The Big Apple’s infamous Roseland Ballroom.

Posted by metalrocker on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 5:33 PM (PST)

UK metal band, Sylosis, has issued an update via the band’s official Facebook page stating that guitarist, Alex Bailey, has suffered a broken wrist and will be unable to play for the remainder of the band’s current North American tour with As I Lay Dying. Touring guitarist, Brandon Ellis, will fill in for Bailey for the rest of the tour.

“To update our American fans on what’s been happening over the past couple of days. On Tuesday Bailey had an unfortunate accident where he sustained a broken arm which has meant he is unable to continue playing on this tour. We have however found a replacement guitarist to cover the rest of the AILD tour dates. For those fans who have seen us at both New York headline date and support for AILD you will have noticed we played as a 3 piece… We’d like to thank the guys in Mutiny Within – Brandon Jacobs, Andrew Jacobs and Chris Clancy, also Kyle Odell of Vanisher & Tommy Vext for being very supportive and helping us work this situation out!”

“A Decade of Destruction,” Sylosis’s first ever US tour, kicked off yesterday in Huntington, NY.

Sylosis’ second album, “Edge of the Earth,” was released on March 11, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Album Review: Sylosis – “Edge Of The Earth”

Posted by Darklord on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 7:17 PM (PST)

Ravaging through the British metal scene, the band Sylosis chose to unleash their second LP, “Edge Of The Earth” this year. The album opens with “Procession” which is just nothing less than a smooth yet technical mixture of melodic death-metal with elements of thrash.

This album is a prominent example of what we should expect from Sylosis in the future. “Edge Of The Earth” is a restless album that yearns to be considered a classic. The track “Empyreal” is an instant piece of ear candy that demonstrates the great chemistry this band has. The song opens a bit triumphantly and jumps right into a carefully executed ride with sequences of epic splashes coming from Rob Callard’s drum-set. Although the drums alone are worthy of nodding endlessly to, you won’t be able to ignore Josh Middleton’s low and high-pitch screams as he rips some serious lead with flawless melodies that blend in extremely well with Alex Bailey’s rhythmic guitar strumming and Carl Parnell’s complementary bass lines.

Sylosis unveil promo video for sophomore album “Edge of the Earth”

Posted by NichTheHair on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 12:57 PM (PST)

Hailing from the UK, thrash masters Sylosis share a glimpse into the writing and recording process for their upcoming release, “Edge of the Earth.” The album was produced by Scott Atkins, who also worked on their 2008 debut “Conclusion of an Age,” and will be available March 11 on Nuclear Blast.

“The new album is definitely heavier and more progressive… although despite being heavier, it’s still more mature on every level. We know we’re still evolving as a band and I’m sure the album after this one will be different again. These kind of statements can be worrying to the fans but we’re very confident and happy with what we’ve created and we know we’ve taken the high road!”

Hailing from Berkshire, England, young thrash metal band Sylosis has quickly risen in the ranks of the metal world. Now comes their sophomore release “Edge of the Earth” to follow their 2008 debut “Conclusion of an Age.”

“We’re extremely proud of the new material. We all know that these are our best songs to date and they are still evolving in the studio. It’s a very different vibe this time around. We’re pushing our producer [Scott Atkins] for a really raw and live sound. We’re making sure we know when to loosen up and let a bit more ‘feel’ creep in so it’s not as sterile.
