Show review: Life Of Agony, A Pale Horse Named Death 9/13/14

“Shed my skin and start again”

It was thrilling to attend the sold out Starland Ballroom Life of Agony and A Pale Horse Named Death show (w/Antwerp openers Diablo Blvd bringing their blend of Danzig-influenced hard rock). It is no secret I am one of the biggest LOA and Type O fans in the world and have been blessed to interview Mina, Sal and to have met Joey Z on different occasions. This band saved my life and I know I am not alone among you metalriot.com readers out there in vocalizing that.

That said, be it their name, the serious nature of their blend of melodic alternative rock and old school hard core and metal or just timing, Life Of Agony are both huge AND underrated. No one knew for sure if they would ever come back now that singer Kieth Caputo transitioned to become Mina Caputo, but from the first note of the band’s set the place erupted and the room was nothing but love. It was completely life affirming and rock n roll as hell.

Whitechapel premiere new song “Mono”

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11:18 AM (PST)

Whitechapel-OurEndlessWar

Returning with the fifth full-length of their decimating career, there is no stopping the juggernaut that is WHITECHAPEL. Our Endless War is the culmination of everything the Knoxville, Tennessee sextet have worked toward since their inception. A ruthlessly honed album that refuses to compromise on brutality, it is also by far their most streamlined, atmospheric, and emotionally powerful release, pushing every aspect of their sound to the next level.

So far just one of the bone crushing tracks from Our Endless War have been made available for public consumption, but now WHITECHAPEL are ready to unleash the second single from their forthcoming release. AltPress.com the online home of Alternative Press Magazine is hosting an exclusive premiere of the song “Mono”. Check it out HERE.

“We’re excited to release another new song from our upcoming fifth studio album Our Endless War titled “Mono”. This song is faster paced and more aggressive compared to the first single “The Saw is the Law”, which demonstrates the dynamic as a whole between the songs on the CD. No two songs sound alike and we’re stoked to get this CD into the hands of our fans on April 29th”, says guitarist Alex Wade.

Our Endless War will be released April 29th in North America via Metal Blade Records. Listen to the first offering from Our Endless War and pre-order the album, in exclusive bundle packages at http://www.metalblade.com/whitechapel.
