Agonia Records $3 Bandcamp Sale til June 30th

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:04 AM (PST)

Agonia Records, home of some of the best extreme and esteemed metal bands on planet Urf, has a sick $3 Bandcamp sale on. If you area fan of bands and can’t even be bothered to shell out $3 for some of these releases, you suck. I mean, unless you are actually homeless or in a seriously dire life situation financially. But still. DIE FOR METAL! Rob a poseur for $3, yo.

Some records we really fucking love that we recommend from the bunch include The Regal Tribe by Usurpress, Incubus by Malfeitor or Shibalba’s new freaky as heck Psychostasis – Death Of Khat. If you had twenty bux you could get all three of those and still take ya girl for a tuna melt AND tip the waitress. Don’t be a loser!

Glorior Belli are streaming “Lies-Strangled Skies” from excellent new Agonia Release Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes). The record is out May 6th but you can stream the newest dark single at Bandcamp HERE.

The album is killer, more black metal and speed leaning than the last record but with one real epic avant garde stomper as well, the highly recommended bass heavy “Rebels In Disguise”. “Upheaval In Chaos Waters” is another highlight, guitars positively gleaming with malice over roared, pained vocals and precision drumming. “World So Spurious” even has a bad ass Celtic Frost-esque death grunt that any metalhead will get pumped hearing.

“Lies-Strangled” skies is the opening track from this anticipated release, the perfect soundtrack to a reading of Paradise Lost or for burning down the house. The stage is set with a military beat building up faster and faster under a commanding guitar line before the album pulls you into a grand majesty of no return.

“The production is by far one of the best that Glorior Belli ever had” – comments the band. “Drums & Bass are absolutely devilish and placed under the spotlight. Everything was recorded, mixed and mastered in our own studios, having an absolute control as usual over the sound. The guitar work overall will bring you back to the origins of Glorior Belli. Conceptually wise, Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes) will smother you with darkness and light, both stuffed down your throat with the same rage that could be heard on Glorior Belli’s ealier records. When the Night is coming down on you, will you find a way through the dark? A record for the very few of us who truly embrace the desire to break from the cosmic prison”.

Glorior Belli‘s last album, the devilishly swampy Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurl, was damn near perfect. Thus it is with psychotic anticipation that we can let you know the French black metal project have a new beast on the way. Out May 6th on Agonia Records, you can bet Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes) is going to punish. Check out the lyric video for the title track below, a blasting ode to darkness which sounds very professional yet rippingly emphasizes the band’s black metal side more prominently once again. Ahhh, so stoked!

Pre order HERE.

Album Review: Glorior Belli – Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls

The latest from the French gloomsters Glorior Belli is a red hot scorcher of swamp ouija hellfire, black and blues metal manifesting with evil glee hellbent on shackling you prisoner in a ramshackle shack and skullfucking you while gators laugh.I know a lot of great BM comes from France and just killer music in general from my years working for Noisemag.net (the French really pay attention the the real underground and the sociology or true history of rock n roll across the spectrum, in my experience). But yeah, I was blown away by Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls. From the Celtic Frost grunts of the churning “Wolves At My Door” to the brimming with “some shit is gonna go down hard” suspense building of bad ass opener “Black Powder Roars”, this is a winner through and through. I love that the grimy screams are just this side of intelligible and the mix straddles the line perfectly between cool sounds and not so hi-fi it ruins the crusty BM experience (while still not sounding like total hissy shit just meant for cassette release in 1993).

If you can handle a smirk and jokes about chaos and gators thrown into a sick and truly menacing BM album with very potent musicianship, this is totally for you. I love the whole NOLA scene so this appeals to the part of me that glowers alone listening to EyehateGod or Down as much as I also can enjoy Nachtmystium’s “Scorpio Incarnate”, Aosoth or even Necroblaspheme.”Aint No Pit Deep Enough” swaggers and churns seas of blood with conviction to spare while I would kill to see these guys live launching into “From One Rebel To Another” (which, with all due utmost respect, wallops what C.O.C. are currently up to). People who aren’t keen on the styles rolled up in a spliff together on this evil grinning croc skull of a disc need to get their chicken heads cut off and used in a dark ritual. The bass tone on this is so dope. This shit will make succubus panties drop and sloppy seconds boglands boil. Seriously, how can you not dig “le Blackout Blues”. It literally makes me want to scream for joy and cut people’s faces off when the vocals roar in and the tempo ramps up. These black cats know what they are doing and do it well. Steve Irwin is wearing fucking corpsepaint and riding your sea cow mom from beyond the grave! 5 god damn stars/dropping glasses just to hear them break!

Glorior Belli swamped out from the temperamental suburbs of Paris in December 2002. What started as a notorious duo soon became a remarkable beast, acting as a beacon for everyone looking to free themselves of the influence of the Demiurge.

A symbolic demo “Evil Archaic Order” was released in June 2004, followed by their first full-length album “Ô Lavdate Dominvs” in May 2005. Their sophomore album “Manifesting the Raging Beast” was released in June 2007 via Southern Lord Records and their latest offering “Meet Us At The Southern Sign” reached the surface in June 2009 via Candlelight Records.

Lyrics and themes explored over the years reveal a sincere inclination for rebel-ism and developed sense of poetry, an intriguing and almost hypnotic journey through dark deserts and evil fields with Lucifer as personal guide. At this point the French band has garnered a stellar reputation in the extreme music community for mixing Desert-Rock textures with the brutal, ominous, doom-laden vibe typical of Black Metal. But don’t bother trying to restrain that which cannot be confined, for this is merely the greatest curse of the cosmic scheme.

Glorior Belli have now inked a worldwide deal with Metal Blade Records in anticipation of their upcoming album “The Great Southern Darkness”, due to be released in the fall of this year.

Comments the band: “We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to work with the folks of Metal Blade Records, who put out some of the best Metal in the past decades, and it’s only fair given the efforts and determination of Glorior Belli into making genuine music that stands the test of time.”
