Eternal Enemies at Upstate Concert Hall (Show Pics)

Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, NY regularly throws diverse shows from Metric to Every Time I Die to Mindless Self Indulgence. It was a no brainer that The Eternal Enemies Tour stop at the mid sized venue was going to be really hyper and packed with kids. Not only is this where the beef with Emmure and The Acacia Strain kind of reached an apex at one point, but it also is where they best buried the hatchet. This show was actually really positive, even with everyone screaming angry shit all night, haha.

From Emmure pals Sylar (also from Queens) setting it off like a kind of metalcore Linkin Park to Kublai Khan from Texas completely killing it onstage with a strong message of unity to the wall of heavy that slams into the crowd whenever The Acacia Strain hits, it was a good night for Upstate, NY.  I can’t believe Ryan from Fit For A King managed to sing his whole set in a long sleeve shirt and not faint. Vincent from The Acacia Strain even gave shout outs to Ted’s Fish Fry and Stewart’s Ice Cream (that’s a regional reference if you know the Troy/Albany area), which was pretty amusing.

Photogs Matt Slater and Richie Bilyou got shots of the action for y’all.

Get ready for The Acacia Strain’s “Coma Witch”

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 5:37 PM (PST)

Acacia Strain will help anyone fill the idle void waiting for Nicki Minaj’s The Pink Print by dropping their new LP Coma Witch on October 14 via Rise Records. The band has revealed cover art and track listing for the album, which was produced by Will Putney (Body Count, Suicide Silence). Coma Witch will be released digitally and physically, as a 2 disc set with the 2nd disc consisting of a 28 minute track titled “Observer”. Haters are gonna be lining up to give the band 28 minute blumpkins after they hear this record, cuz this is  The Acacia Strain with their eye on the long game. “Graveyard Shift” is my favorite new track so far, a song so angry it makes you wonder what has been going on in these guy’s lives.

Check out the band’s music video for the new pulverizing track “Cauterizer” here.

Coma Witch is available for pre-order on www.thewitchiscoming.com and oniTunes.

Check out the band’s upcoming tour dates here.

For their genre, these cats don’t have many “peers”. You know who this band is. Bring it on.

The Acacia Strain give us a release date for new album AND a music video

Posted by SeanB on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 6:51 PM (PST)

TheAcaciaStrainComaWitchChicopee, Massachusetts deathcore vets The Acacia Strain have recently been teasing a new album through several different sources and we finally have the details.  The album is going to be called Coma Witch and is set to be released October 14th through Rise Records.  They have also released the first single and music video called “Cauterizer.”

To get your first listen of new Acacia Strain click right here.

Coma Witch will be the band’s seventh full length album and the first without guitarist Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz.   It will also be the first to feature replacements Devin Shidaker of ex-Oceano fame and ex-Molotov Solution guitarist Richard Gomez.  Laskiewicz hadn’t toured with the band in years but was still writing and producing for them up until his May 2013 departure.  So that means this will be the first album they’ve released without his input…should be interesting to see how their sound progresses.

Bogie’s is a classic venue that has hosted, and continues to host, the best names in hardcore – both large and small. Many bands got their shit started at this place over the years, so it is great when a band gives it back. Class acts The Acacia Strain did just that the other night after a fired up gig with Full Blown Chaos.

What an amazing fucking weekend!!!!! This is what I’m talking about!!! So,The Acacia Strain donated ALL of their money to help fix the rest of the roof and pay off a back bill!!! Now I remember why I do this!!!! – Mike BlackNBlue’s Facebook post

My old school show pal Matt Slater, who I’ve known since Beneath The Remains/Unbalanced days in Poughkeepsie’s hardcore late 90’s boom, was cool enough to send us his thoughts and some photos from the show!

“We arrived in Albany at Bogies in time to catch all the bands on the bill . The local bands put on a great show , with plenty of dancing , leading up to the main acts that night . Fbc was first , playing a wide array of songs , with sing alongs, & pile ons , one after the other . Tas took the stage right after fbc, and opened up with the beast , nightman , btm fdr , skynet ,the impaler,& hills have eyes just to name a few of their carnal onslaught of tunes .  After the show , the acacia strain donated all their pay back to Bogies” – Matt Slater

Rise Records  announced via Facebook that The Acacia Strain have finished recording their next album, due for summer release and produced by Will Putney (Stray From The Path, Four Year Strong, Reign Supreme).

“Just talked to Vincent from The Acacia Strain. He said the band just finished tracking the new record (roar of huge cheers). They play NE Metalfest this weekend and then head overseas to Australia/NZ.”

If you don’t catch Acacia Strain at NEMHC this weekend (or especially  Sam Black Church!), you are probably an idiot. If for some reason you have a valid reason for not attending like I do (a bevy of car repairs), kill yourself. No, just wait and see Acacia STrain at Skate And Surf in May! They are playing Sunday, May 18th on the same day as Alkaline Trio, soon to be missed (and great live) The Mongoloids, United Nations and more.
