Full Album Stream: Mantas (Death) – “Death By Metal”

Death By Metal, the 2 disc album of rehearsals and demos recorded by Florida’s legendary death metal pioneers Mantas,  (Death before they were Death) is streaming online right now.  This first disc will include two demo tapes and a rehearsal from 1984.  The second disc will include another demo and a live performance by Mantas.

New Old Music: (Death) Mantas – “Evil Dead”

Legendary Florida death metal group Death have unleashed a song from their upcoming album of early demo material from when they went under the moniker Mantas.  The song is called “Evil Dead” and although a little raws it is an early 80′s demo, it definitely sounds like early Death.  The release is being called Death By Metal and includes two demo tapes and a rehearsal from 1984. The two disc edition will include another demo and a live performance by Mantas.

Death By Metal is set for a June 19, 2012 release in North America, a June 22nd release in Germany, and a June 29th release for the rest of Europe under Relapse Records.

Floridan death metallers, Death, are releasing a demo collection from their early years when they were under the name Mantas. The demo collection will be called “Death By Metal,” and it will include two demo tapes and a rehearsal from 1984. The two disc edition will include another demo and a live performance by Mantas.

Floridian death metallers, Death, have release a live version of their song “Zero Tolerance” off their upcoming collection “Vivus!”. This track is from the first disc “Live in L.A.” and the second disc is “Live in Eindhoven,” and both of the recordings were from 1998 concerts.

Death announce live collecion “Vivus!” and track list

Floridan death metallers, Death, have announce that a two CD live collection entitled “Vivus!” will be released. The live songs were from two 1998 concerts, one in the Whiskey A Go-Go and the other at the Dynamo Open Air.

Obscura announce demo collection “Illegimitation” and track list

German death metallers, Obscura, have announced they will be independently releasing a collection of demos entitled “Illegimitation.” The collection will be released in March 2012 and will include ten never-before-heard tracks, including the band’s earliest recordings from 2003, unreleased songs from the “Cosmogenesis” sessions of 2006, and brand new cover songs with the newest line-up from 2011.

Remixed Death track “The Philosopher” now streaming

A remixed, re-mastered version of Death’s “The Philosopher,” taken from the forthcoming re-issue of the 1993 album “Individual Thought Patterns,” has been posted online now via the official Death Facebook page here.

The album will see it’s official re-issue on October 25th in North America, October 28th in the Benelux / Germany, and October 31st in the UK and rest of Europe. The album will be released via Relapse Records and has been remixed by Alan Douches. It will be re-packaged to include a second and third bonus disc of previously unreleased demos and a full live set recorded in Germany during a 1993 European tour. Also included on the third bonus disc exclusive to this re-issue are rare riff tracks from the Chuck Schuldiner archives.

Re-issue of “Individual Thought Patterns” by Death announced

Florida death metal band, Death, will be re-issuing their album “Individual Thought Patterns.” The re-issue will be remixed and will include two extra discs containing unreleased demos, a live set in Germany, and rare riff tracks from the late Chuck Schuldiner. To view the track list click here.

The reissue will be released through Relapse Records October 25th for North America, October 28th for Germany, and October 31st for the rest of Europe.
