Music Video: King Of Asgard- “The Nine Worlds Burn”

Posted by SeanB on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 6:44 AM (PST)

Swedish viking metal heads King Of Asgard have just premiered their newest music video for the song “The Nine Worlds Burn” over at Metal Injection.  This is the newest single taken from their upcoming July 31 Metal Blade release called …To North.

You can click here to check out the video.

When asked about the video for “The Nine Worlds Burn”, King Of Asgard had the following to say:

“Why look further, when one is surrounded by great artists? Again, King of Asgard teamed up with the “Einhärjar” video creator, Rickard Monéus and the 1897 crew including Andreas Edelönn. The production set up took place in the depths of a forest close to King of Asgard’s rehearsal lair. A late night in May – dusk and burdened raindrops. Perfect conditions for creating works of ruin. Searching to reflect the mythological end-of-this-world theme of “The Nine Worlds Burn”, Rickard and Andreas produced a video full of ritualistic and apocalyptic visuals that perfectly enhance the song’s sense of dread and destruction. A result we are all proud to present. That depict and burn the crust of the earth!”

Bassist Jonas Albrektsson recently commented on the recording process and what to expect from …to North:

“The “…To North” master just arrived and it sounds astonishing! Andy LaRocque made a great job on the production and the mastering along with Olof Berggren. It’s upright and powerful. We feel very proud of what we achieved on this recording and merely the sound of it makes it a worthy follow-up to the firstborn “Fi’mbulvintr”. Songs and sounds came out much as of what we planned, with power and a great variety. “…To North” takes off pretty much where “Fi’mbulvintr” left off so to say, with a natural development, more varied songs and structures. It’s a development of our sound which will be recognized by old fans as well as bring some new ones to the horde. This time around I’ve been more involved in the writing process along with Karl, which kind of shines through, giving the songs a wider perspective. Expect some very strong songs on “…To North”, where epic meets with brutality! The lyrical theme this time is basically in the same vein but has different twists. Not as obvious as before. “…To North” will make The Nine Worlds Burn… and Varberg was just left behind.”

…to North will be the follow up to 2010’s Fi’mbulvintr and the recording debut of guitarist Lars Tängmark, formally of Mithotyn.

King of Asgard to record new album

Posted by mattevans on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 3:44 PM (PST)

Swedish Viking Metal outfit, King of Asgard, are scheduled to finish writing and record their follow-up to 2010’s “Fi’mbulvintr to be released on Metal Blade Records.  The band will hit Sonic Train Studios in March.

The band had this to say: “We’re glad to get back there in early March and to get some new stuff on tape. This also being the first time recording with Lars on guitar. The material for this coming release is a natural step forward for King of Asgard. It differs quite a lot though the foundation of our musical roots still are very present. A natural progression of the sounds on ‘Fi’mbulvintr’! Song titles include ‘Gap Of Ginnungs’ and ‘Plague-ridden Rebirth’!”

King of Asgard features Karl Beckman and Lars Tängmark, formally of Mithotyn.
