Pittsburgh metallers Signs of the Swarm have released their newest lyric video for their track “Tempting Death.” The track features Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin.

The track was released via Slam Worldwide and comes off the band’s forthcoming album Vital Deprivation. The album is due out October 11 via Unique Leader Records. The 10 track album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (August Burns Red, Rivers of Nihil, The Last Ten Seconds of Life) at Think Loud Studios in York, Pa.

Signs of the Swarm said of the release:

“We are pleased to present our third album via Unique Leader Records, Vital Deprivation. We began writing for the album shortly after TDOE was released. From the beginning we had a sound in mind that was more aggressive and fast paced, but equally as brutal as our previous releases. What makes this album different from our past is that we wrote with pleasing ourselves in mind first and foremost. We’ve covered a lot of ground in just under 40 minutes. Some of the album may be what you expect to hear from us, and hopefully some may not. David Simonich is a powerhouse of a vocalist bringing a whole new range of motion to the band’s spectrum. His lyrical content and cadence bring a more emotional and poetic energy to Signs while retaining the aggression he’s become known for. We’d like to thank Carson Slovak & Grant McFarland for helping us to shape this album into a coherent message from beginning to end. Thank you to our fans who have supported us relentlessly, this is the first of many to come. Please enjoy Vital Deprivation.”

Signs of the Swarm will hit the road this Fall as part of the Disentomb-headlined Bloodletting North America tour alongside Visceral Disgorge, Continuum, Organectomy, and Mental Cruelty.

DBD are back

Death Before Dishonor are premiering their new album, the first in a long ass time, over at Decibel. If you missed this skull clobbering Boston hardcore outfit, you will NOT be let down by Unfinished Business. The intro to “True Defeat” dropped in and I was instantly head nodding like ,”hellz yeah!”

Stream this ferocious fucker RIGHT HERE via Decibel. I thought the production and performances were great.

Sickbay

Upstate, NY’s Sickbay are a band to watch! This super heavy group are on the rise and will impress hardcore and metal fans of many stripes with their savage sound. The band is self releasing an album called Dissonance August 9th and have a new song called ‘Bloodsoaked’ out to wet your knives and feral appetites on. They have a sort of 90’s proto metalcore with death metal influences sound I really dig and super gruff bad ass vocals that are fun to snarl along with. Heavy mosh factor as well and killer riffs and get the job done with brutal hacksaw efficiency drums.

Recording was done by Mike Usifer of Beacon Soundworks, the guitarist for Prime Evil. The cover was drawn by Keavan Rivers of Doc Rivers Tattoo, who incidentally used to be the drummer for Dissolve. Check them out below! RIYL Skinless, Stigmata, Obituary.

Bummed to hear that WRVTH are calling it a day. Solid and visionary band. Destined to be a cult favorite in the underground, I’d wager. The atmospheric, progressive post metal act have released a lyric video for their new song “Eventide.” The track is off of the band’s forthcoming final album No Rising Sun which will see a digital release on August 23rd through Unique Leader Records. One of those bands like My Epic or Cult of Luna who have some instrumental passages that are just so fucking brilliant but some people STILL have managed to sleep on.

WRVTH offered the following, “This album is about hardships and the contingencies that being in a band brings, just as much as it’s about the pure happiness harbored from fighting in order to follow our passion. In the music you’ll hear our excitement and joy, through the sound of blood, tears, and heartache. In the lyrics, you’ll read the fight against our adversities and the anguish from resisting an impending finality in and of itself. One day everything can be fine and the next it’s over. Not everyone and everything gets to see the light of a new day. This album is a representation of what this band meant to us, as well as the battles we underwent to keep this band alive. Even in the sound, you can hear a coming of age. All the way from our humble beginnings as Wrath of Vesuvius to this living breathing family we called a band. We have seen the world together, through hell and bliss, and made such strong friendships along the way. No matter how big or small the stage was, we always played like it was our last. We remain eternally grateful for any allies, opportunities, and accomplishments this band has brought us, and even more grateful that we were able to share it with anyone that wanted to listen.”

French death metal and Unique Leader artists DYSMORPHIC have a new playthrough video out for brave souls who want to navigate the impressive guitar and bass parts for “Vow Of The Bees.” While there is plenty of technical flourish, the song also has some pretty impressive emotional feeling in the playing – particularly near the climax of the composition.

The group commented on the gear used, “Eric plays an Ibanez RGD UCS with a set of Bareknuckle Aftermaths through a Fractal Axe-FX II. Francois plays a Mermet Guitars Custom FLL7 with a set of Bareknuckle Juggernauts, also through an Axe-FX II. Johann plays an Ibanez SR1805NTF through an Ampeg.”

Watch the playthrough video HERE.

Beyond Creation, Origin, Decrepit Birth, Augury fans etc. will be stoked on this. These guys are really tight and into what they do. You don’t get this good without passion for it. I strongly recommend An Illusive Progress.

DYSMORPHIC will also be playing a series of shows in France this month.

3/15 Toulouse, FR @ Cave A Rock
3/16 Bordeaux, FR @ La Voute
3/23 Paris, FR @ Le Cirque Electrique

Deathcore action heroes Signs Of The Swarm are hungry, and I don’t just mean that they look like they could use a big helping of lasagna each. The group have been working hard to leave an impression and slam an impact crater into the surface of the scene. I always think about how fired up Korn was when they toured with Danzig years ago and wonder what new bands will come out blazing with similar desire to make crowds go crazy nowadays. Well, Signs Of The Swarm aint slouchin’ live, that’s for sure!

Now the group have released pro shot live footage from their stint on this year’s Devastation on the Nation Tour, which saw them performing alongside Aborted, Psycroptic, Ingested, Disentomb, Arkaik, and Venom Prison. The set was filmed by Matti Way (From The North Films) at the tour’s stop in Mesa, Az date.

Internal Bleeding announce new album ‘Corrupting Influence’

Posted by longhairedpoet on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 7:38 AM (PST)

New York death metallers Internal Bleeding have announced that their forthcoming album Corrupting Influence will be released on October 19 via Unique Leader Records.

Founding guitarist Chris Pervelis commented, “Corrupting Influence is filled with all of the gut twisting heaviness and groove you’d expect from us, but there’s also plenty of unexpected twists that take a listener to places we’ve never gone before. Additionally, the production is right where it should be — heavy as f*ck, organic and live sounding.”

Guitarist Chris McCarthy added, “I grew up as a fan of IB, so I put everything in my ability to make this the sickest IB album ever.”

The album was produced by the band alongside Joe Cincotta at Full Force Studios (Suffocation, Dehumanized) in Ronkonkoma, Ny, engineered by Cincotta, and features artwork by guitarist Chris Pervelis.

In support of Corrupting Influence the band will be going on tour in the fall as part of the Bloodletting North America Tour XII along side Decrepit Birth, Arsis, Pyrexia, Angelmaker, and Within Destruction.

Phoenix, Az based critically acclaimed death metal group LAGO have premiered a Matti Way (From the North Films) directed music video for their song “Soiled Is The Crown” today via Metalsucks. The track, which saw Metalsucks commenting “If you like your DM with guts churned, ear drums rattled and knees shaken, this is the stuff for you!”, comes from their highly anticipated Unique Leader debut Sea of Duress which will see a June 8th release date and sees the band further refining their blackened, menacing brand of old school influenced death metal.

LAGO commented on the video, “This was our first experience making a video, so we were VERY apprehensive about the idea.  We tend to have a mentality of “less is more” in terms of our artistic direction, so the fear of doing something over the top and ridiculous was definitely there. This video is honestly the brain child of Matti Way.  We had a really simple idea and he really took it and ran. We were thrilled with how it turned out. The textures, the graininess, the cuts and especially the lighting turned out incredible! This video really encompasses the tone of the whole album in our opinion.” Matti Way added, “So what I wanted to do with the video was really bring out Lago’s eerie and ominous musical vibes that are interwoven throughout Sea of Duress…”

Toilet Ov Hell is one of the cooler blogs in the clogged plumbing of the interweb. Today they premiere the new single from tech death outfit Inanimate Existence. Tech death outfit sounds like if Iron Man went like full blown evil and just started blasting people’s heads off when Tony Stark gets too wasted. Hmmm…tangent.

Anyway, Inanimate Existence recently announced their forthcoming fourth album, Underneath a Melting Sky. If that bad ass album title doesn’t make you want to take shrooms and lose your mind reading Lovecraft immediately, perhaps you are currently visiting the wrong website?

Says Toilet Ov Hell regarding today’s song premiere:
“In Moonlight I Am Reborn” is the unification of the old and new, bearing the strong, full riffs of the band’s earlier efforts with the ethereal synths of their most recent. The beginning of the song illustrates this perfectly: you’re immediately greeted with a big meaty triplet riff backed with a subtle layer of synth and effects-laden clean guitar. The haunting atmosphere has the subtlety of their older work, but with the multilayered complexity of Calling. The two halves of their sound work together now better than ever before, and the resulting effect is something akin to meditating under a waterfall: relentlessly pummeling, but surprisingly contemplative.”
