Pierce The Veil and Rise Against to tour with White Lung

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:08 AM (PST)

Pierce The Veil and Rise Against plus White Lung? Well that is certainly not the most everyday combo. I can dig it. All of the bands have integrity for different reasons and do have connections to the family tree of punk while here and there dabbling in hard rock.

General and VIP tickets go on-sale for all dates at 10 a.m. EST on Friday, May 12. All tickets will be available for purchase at here: www.piercetheveil.net

The Word Alive release new video for “Sellout”

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:19 AM (PST)

unnamed-1

A lot of bands over the years from Stray From The Path to GnR to RATM have had videos with civil unrest in them. Even more bands have had performance videos to the point where many acts hate making them. It is a testament to the passion The Word Alive bring to the table that they are able to combine both and make it work, if also reminding how sad it is there is still unrest in the world . Will humans get their shit together someday?

See “Sellout” Below.

Blessthefall has a new video and ‘m really liking the minimalism and good core concepts/elements with the hi fi but still raw blend of heavy and pop. Check out “Walk On Water” BELOW.

Interview: Oceans Ate Alaska – Fearless, Beyoncé and the fans

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 5:57 PM (PST)

oceansatealaska

Oceans Ate Alaska are a metalcore band with trickier arrangements kind of in the vein of Elitist or This Or The Apocalypse, to my ears. The band seem very busy and recently signed with Fearless Records for their debut. Metal Riot’s June Martinez (aka. XxCrashQueenxX) spoke to the Birmingham, UK metalcore guys about what is ticking in their world, what songs to expect live and more. Click HERE to read more.

11/21/14 Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, NY hosted The World Tour, a collaborative package between Sleeping With Sirens and a little band I’m partial to called Pierce The Veil. We sent photographer Nicole Terpening to shoot at the large venue (seriously, but the place has GREAT sound) and she came back with exclusive live shots of Pierce The Veil and Beartooth for us! Constructive energy and great bands.

June Martinez of Metal Riot sat down with Tony Pizzuti – Guitarist of fast rising alt/ metalcore band The Word Alive on having “Lighthouse” on ESPN, what it means to be Real to the band and much more. It’s a personable and chill chat between our roving correspondent and Tony.

June says:

The interview was at the Glass House in Pomona and it was interesting to hear their take on the ViP packages.

Tony’s beard is pretty snazzy. Check out the exclusive interview HERE and stand up tall. “Lighthouse” video also included after the jump. #keepitreal

Interview: Pierce The Veil – Stoked to do it right

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 2:17 PM (PST)

Pierce the Veil, Gold Single Presentation, "King For A Day" - 11

When we were going to shows, the four of us all the time when we were younger, we loved the nervous energy before a show. What’s gonna happen?! – Jaime Preciado

Pierce The Veil are a band who are capturing the world by the ear, but they’ve truly earned it.  The hard working act was just awarded a Gold record for its track “King For A Day” in recognition of sales of more than 500,000 units.”King For A Day” was included on the band’s 2012 album Collide With The Sky (which reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Modern Rock/Alternative and Rock Albums charts, and has sold in excess of a quarter-million copies in the U.S. alone).  The track,
featuring guest vocals from Sleeping with Sirens‘ Kellin Quinn, was a top 40 rock hit, and its companion music video has, to date,  reached 37-million-plus YouTube views.

Those are some crazy numbers for a little post-hardcore band from San Diego but the love of life and fan-centric attitude plus the tour or die nature of the band has converted legions. These guys may not be as heavy as the heaviest bands we cover on this site, but they have my vote for totally awesome.

Click HERE for a talk with Jaime Preciado about their influences, The World Tour and next album!

Pierce The Veil tracking follow up to “Collide With The Sky”

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 7:50 PM (PST)

Pierce the Veil, who rocketed to success with their 2012 release Collide With The Sky, have been sequestered at Dan Korneff’s Sonic Deris Recording Studio in New York writing and recording a brand new album due for a January 2015 release on Fearless Records.  As yet untitled, the highly-anticipated release is being produced by Korneff (A Day To Remember, Paramore) who worked with the band on Collide.

Vocalist Vic Fuentes began working on ideas as early as late last year and began writing new material in earnest this Spring. He and the band – Mike Fuentes (drums), Tony Perry (guitar), and Jaime Preciado (bass) – started preproduction in May in their newly-renovated San Diego home studio. In June, with 11 songs written, the band headed to New York to begin recording; nine of those songs are earmarked for the new album, and the band has written two more since.

Said Vic about the sessions, “We try to stay focused on writing and recording songs that we’re happy with, that we like, songs that will be fun to play live and that our fans will want to sing along with, songs that offer a little something different, but are all still very much PTV songs.”

Leading up to the new album’s release, PTV will co-headline 21 U.S. dates, the first leg of “The World Tour,” a five-month, multi-leg global trek, with Sleeping with Sirens. Confirmed dates for the first leg are below.

Show Review: The Vans Warped Tour 2014

Posted by XxCrashQueenxX on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 7:09 PM (PST)

WT Punk rock summer camp…wasn’t so punk rock. The Vans Warped Tour rolled into town on June 20th in Pomona, CA. The Warped Tour line up this year is made up of heavier bands, but punk bands? Not so much. (I’m not complaining).

GROWN. That’s the one word that sums up The Word Alive’s upcoming album Real. Telle and the boys said in previous interviews that they planned on stepping their game up with this new album. They weren’t fooling around either.

For All Those Sleeping premieres “Incomplete Me” video

Posted by longhairedpoet on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 4:00 PM (PST)

FATS-band

Minnesota metalcore five-piece For All Those Sleeping have premiered a music video for their song “Incomplete Me”.

The video is the title track off of the band’s upcoming album which is set to be released on June 23 via Fearless Records.

Guitarist David Volgman-Stevens had this to say about the video:

“Since ‘Incomplete Me’ is such a raw and personal song we wanted the music video to reflect that, that’s why instead of shooting the typical “Hollywood” music video, we shot it in our hometown (St. Cloud, Minnesota) and kept it true to ourselves. We love how it turned out and represents the song!”

For All Those Sleeping will be on the Vans Warped Tour all summer long, check out the tour dates and the video for “Incomplete Me” here.
