The Safety Fire got a “Glass Crush”, well…a music video

“An atom bomb of energy, and a fistful of sand…”…this is awesome!

The Safety Fire are one of the more unique bands out there, a promising UK act who combine crazy progressive riffing akin to some of the spazziest stuff from The Ocean or early Mastodon with the kind of melodic and spacey stuff you might like if you listen to, say, Circa Survive or something. Anyway, these guys always seem to be pushing themselves and the band have unleashed a new video for their song “Glass Crush”.

Definitely one of the most exciting Century Media bands right now by far, these guys are over the top and passionate. It’s great. And while some people can’t get behind the vocals as maybe too emo or something, dude’s voice is not whiny and he commands great presence atop the varied sounds of the band. I would rather hear these skillfully executed vocals than a bunch of growly bullshit, frankly.

This video does what it ought to, makes me want to hear the song again, buy a copy of Mouth of Swords and enjoy life.

New Music: Leprous – “Chronic”

Posted by SeanB on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 3:23 PM (PST)

leprousNorwegian progressive metallers Leprous have released the first single from their upcoming album Coal.  The album is due for release May 28th in North America and May 20 in Europe via InsideOut Music and is the band’s fifth full length album.  The record was produced by Heidi Solberg Tveitan & Vegard Tveitan of Mnemosyne, and Jens Bogren & Tony Lindgren mixed and mastered the album at Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Symphony X, Kreator).

You can find the first single called “Chronic” streaming at HeavyBlogIsHeavy.com by clicking right here.

Leprous singer/synth-player Einar Solberg had this to say about the song:

“We’re delighted to finally be able to give you the first taste of our upcoming album ‘Coal’! ‘Coal’ is a melancholic, soulful and very dynamic album. Where ‘Bilateral’ was playful and ‘in-your face’, ‘Coal’ is subtle and floating. ‘Chronic’ however, is of the more dynamic songs of the album. With a heavy basis, the song pinches a nerve LEPROUS has never before explored.”

The Safety Fire release music video for “Floods Of Colour”

Posted by KageDrummer on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 1:32 PM (PST)

British progressive metallers, The Safety Fire, have released a music video for their song “Floods Of Colour” off their upcoming album “Grind The Ocean.” Guitarist Derya “Dez” Nagle has stated:

It was an absolutely crazy time filming it, we had tons of paint in our mouths, which I can say doesn’t taste very nice at all. We’ve done a performance video, and I think it’s important for people to see us perform in that kind of way, because if you haven’t seen us live then you don’t necessarily know what to expect. But I think this shows a different side of our personalities, which I think is just as important. We like to have fun with things, even though we’re very serious.”

“Grind The Ocean” will be released April 10th through InsideOutMusic.
