Hivesmasher goes on tour.

Hivesmasher LogoMassachusetts grindcore band Hivesmasher have posted tour dates for their upcoming US tour. These lovable rapscallions released their album Gutter Choir in October of 2012 on Black Market Activities and will be kicking off their tour on May 30th at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn.

You can see a full list of tour dates here.

Hivesmasher had the following to say about the tour: ‘This tour is centered around two concepts–we like playing shows in places where we don’t live, and we like playing shows with our friends. Combining the two is perfection.

Originally, Tiger Flowers and The Binary Code proposed that we do a few dates together at the end of May beginning of June, starting in Brooklyn and heading south. Of course, we leaped at the opportunity. As soon we started working on booking those dates, Cognitive proposed three shows with us the following weekend.

Since we kinda like doing this whole touring band thing, we decided that we’d be better off staying out on the road between the two smaller runs. Since it had been just over a year since we last traveled through the Rust Belt, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get back!’

Music: The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza – “Rudy x 3”

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 7:37 AM (PST)

Tennessee extreme metal band The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza have debuted the song “Rudy x 3.” off of their upcoming, and final album, Danza IIII: The Alpha – The Omega. The album will be available early November via Black Market Activities.

You can listen to it here.

The album was created solely by founders Jessie Freeland on vocals and Josh Travis handling all the instruments. Travis has left The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza and is currently the guitarist for Glass Cloud. He had the following to say about the band’s final album.

“For this album, Jessie and I were looking to create more of a visceral vibe than a completely technical vibe. There’s parts that do still get a bit chaotic of course, but not nearly as much as the avid listener is used to. Everything about this record is way more to the point, with much more heart put into it rather than just seeing how many notes could be thrown into a part or seeking to create ‘the heaviest shit ever’ or any of that nonsense. The record being titled The Alpha – The Omega, to us symbolized the beginning and the end of Danza. Jessie and I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it for you all.”

Brooklyn experimental metal band Behold The Arctopus, formerly Behold… The Arctopus, have announced their return and line up change. The band will return to the scene with their new album Horrorscension on October 23rd via Black Market Activities. It has been five years since the band released their debut album Skullgrid, and in that time original drummer Charlie Zeleny has been replaced by Weasel Walter. Horroscension is the first album featuring the new line up.

Behold The Arctopus is noted for composing their music before ever playing it and being solely instrumental. To read more on that from Warr guitarist Colin Marston click here.

The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza announces final album

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:29 AM (PST)

Tennessee metal band The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza have announced the release of their fourth, and apparently final album, Danza IIII: The Alpha – The Omega. The album is set for release on October 23 via Black Market Activity. I cant find any word on why the band is calling it quits but guitarist Josh Travis has joined Glass Cloud which I hope isn’t the reason because they suck.
