Kalopsia sign to HPGD Productions, “Angelplague” imminent

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2:31 PM (PST)

New Jersey death metal band Kalopsia have clear old school influences but clobber hard enough to kick new school “brootal” fans right in the hoo-ha. Damn, there are some seriously heavy moments that have, like, Chaos A.D. level neck whiplash and fist pumping groove intensity in their track “Destined To Return”.

The band are poised to reach more ears as they have just signed to Horror Pain Gore Death, a terrific choice for the label and group that is sure to thrill metal fans. Pre-order their forthcoming record Angelplague HERE. If you are into anything from new super heavy stuff like Enterprise Earth balanced against the more traditional death metal of Jungle Rot or, say, Sodom’s dark but insistent and not overly cluttered yet still adept writing, you will prob be super stoked on this.

Sons Of Famine sign to HPGD

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 3:15 PM (PST)

Chicago based evil ragers Sons Of Famine have signed to Horror Pain Gore Death Productions. The band are not just a buncha edgelords, rather a collection of metal disciples including current/ex members of CorpseVomit, Lividity, Gigan, Kommandant, Summon, Yakuza, Nachtmystium, Evil Incarnate and Imperial Savagery. Though their facebook says they are “…anti-everything, and we hope you die a miserable death!!” That is slightly edgelordy. Thanks! They rock a lot, though. So…Hails.

The band have released their new EP entitled Alcohol And Razorblades as a Digital Album for only $4.44 ! Congrats to them on working with one of the cooler labels out there. Cheers to all.

EP Review: Castrator – “No Victim”

Posted by Joan on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:26 PM (PST)

castrator-no-victim

“Tightly she holds the blade
With which the rapist will be raped .
Castration Of the rapist! Emasculation.”

Talk about a reply to any number of songs from Cannibal Corpse’s discography! Having discovered these ladies last year, right before their demo was released, I was ecstatic to finally hear Castrator‘s 4-track EP released in early May under the Horror Pain Gore Death Productions label. These five ladies hail from all over the map (Sweden, Colombia & Norway to name a few countries), marking this group as both ethnically diverse and fem-tastic! Shrouded in a bit of mystery, the ladies are credited as M.S. (vocals), M. Akesson (rhythm guitar), R. M. (bass), C. Perez (drums) and P. Serrano (lead and vocals). You might already be familiar with many of the ladies from their other bands, which with time, I’m sure you’ll all figure out.

It’s sort of a supergroup in the making. Castrator’s EP has brushed off the dust to reinvigorate traditional death metal, and, in fact, does so with a healthy dose of feminism. And for you males out there who shy away from the f-word – put simply, it’s about leveling the field.

Blood will have blood and Holocatustum are now streaming their quite bloody new release In The Fields They Bled. Precise yet brutally blunt death metal with shredded vocals from below courtesy of Shawna Silvers.

Purchase the CD for only $10 with free shipping at http://www.horrorpaingoredeath.com/store/hpgd111.html

Listen to the entire album for FREE, then purchase the Digital Download for only $6.66 at https://hpgd.bandcamp.com/album/in-the-fields-they-bled

Opener “Can you not smell the stench?” was the right starter for this album, just about everything right about death metal. Tasteful but emboldened drumming, slippery leads from Charlie Baughman that dazzle don’t sit too high in the mix and push it into showboat metal territory, gurgled roars from hell (as aforementioned) and life mourning stringed instrument darkly distorted noise vengeance. Hails!

Violation Wound are punker, uglier and gnarlier than what you like

It takes guts to name your band Violation Wound. It pretty much is completely unethical, up there with names like (the awesome punk femme band) Spider Cunts, Diarrhea Planet , The Murder Junkies or engineer Steve Albini’s short lived Rapeman as names you will have a hard time advertising on venue posters… anywhere! But Chris Reifert of Autopsy and early Death fame has been collecting steaming piles of guts for years in the death metal world, so forming a band that bathes in beer and who sound like The Exploited were actually ever kind of good doesn’t seem like it was much of a problem. Who knows, maybe the name means the wounds we suffer through the violation of society or something deep.

Anyway, this music will make you poop some bloody, runny browns and want to punch a friend. It really is not the kind of punk I can see causing a social movement to rise up and overthrow our Skull & Bones masters, but it will make you think most other bands are complete wussies.

I can’t believe I just discovered this and that they played with fucking Vampire and Midnight recently while I was probably home watching freakin’ Charmed on Netflix or something. Thank Gawd I was on an Autopsy kick tonight and stumbled across this semi-related but very different project. Not exactly metal but certainly made for those intent on ruling.

Order a 3 way split cd with Violation Wound, dirty Mike & The Boys (which for some reason is a grosser name to me for a band…sounds so sleazy, haha) and First Class Elite through HPGD Productions right HERE (out late November) and check out some ripping music in the form of “Roll Over And Die Blues” BELOW.

There are about a million reasons why the new cover art from Crucifixion BR‘s pending Destroying The Fucking Disciples Of Christ is all win (and pure sin). I’m gonna go with the man tits on that Baphomet though. And the stud and B-grade porn factor of some of the seraphim. This just made my day. On top of it, the release will be on the awesome Horror Pain Gore Death Productions and the band rules! Out Oct 7th, below is the official description from the label:

Horror Pain Gore Death Productions welcomes Brazil’s blasphemous Black Metal bulldozers Crucifixion BR to the roster with their debut album “Destroying The Fucking Disciples Of Christ”. Formed in 1996 in the Rio Grande by Lord Grave War an DarkMoon, Crucifixion BR finally unleash this beast of brutality, a release full of pure hatred, raw energy and intense aggression. With the aim of creating original, diabolic Black Metal, a heavy influence of 80’s Thrash Metal and Death Metal are thrown into the mix further expanding Hell’s horizons, and also re-animating the Brazilian scene. With the combination of powerful riffs and brutal blasts by a talented female drummer, the result is the sheer essence of evil! “Destroying The Fucking Disciples Of Christ” was mixed and mastered at Hurricane Studio, a renowned studio southern Brazil… follow Crucifixion BR’s path into the Obscure Arts! For fans of Astarte, Bathory, Behemoth, Celtic Frost, Dark Funeral, Deicide, Emperor, Hellhammer, Krisiun, Mayhem, Morbid Angel, Sepultura and Venom
