If you are tired of the parade of extremely ugly Republicans on tv and want some cool death metal distraction , we have killer news from L.A. tech death metallic monsters Abysmal Dawn today! Abysmal Dawn remain one of the most intense bands out there and will be embarking on a North American tour as direct support for VADER in February of next year! Their star will surely continue to grow and consume all!

The run will kick off on February 4 in San Diego, CA and will conclude on February 28 in the band’s hometown of Los Angeles. The full run of dates can be found below. For updates on ticket links and on-sale times, follow ABYSMAL DAWN on BandsInTown HERE.

In addition to the tour announcement, ABYSMAL DAWN has even bigger news in store for 2020! The band has just completed work on their long-awaited fifth studio album, which will be their debut to Season of Mist. The forthcoming full-length was mixed by Charles Elliott and produced and recorded by Charles Elliot and Mike Bear at Tastemaker Audio while the drums were tracked by John Haddad at Trench Studios. The offering was mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios. I for one am incredibly pumped at this news and was hoping the band would land a new, solid contract somewhere soon!

Speaking about the upcoming offering, ABYSMAL DAWN comments:
“We’re officially done with album number 5! It’s been quite some time since we released any new music, and we feel we have something special on our hands. It took a lot of time, effort, and seeing through some trying times to get to this moment. We’re very proud of the outcome and think fans will agree it was worth the wait. Musically we’re pushing our limits more than ever, while still maintaining what people love about Abysmal Dawn. Now we take a quick breath before getting back once again to spreading our brand of misanthropic extreme metal across the globe. See you on the road in 2020!”

For everyone moping about the end of Slayer, here is some fresh metal news to maybe cheer your ragged little evil hearts up a little bit, eh? In an interesting pairing, Carnifex and 3TEETH are heading out together in a sure to be pretty darn sick co-headlining run. META X starts on March 13th in Santa Ana wrapping up on April 17th in Los Angeles, making stops in major markets including New York City, Nashville, Chicago, and more. The tour will also feature support from Skold and The Browning. Tickets go on-sale starting Friday, December 6th and can be found HERE.

3TEETH will be on tour in support of their latest album METAWAR, released this past July, following a headlining run in Europe. METAWAR, which was produced by Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), is available HERE. Carnifex will be supporting World War X, which was produced by Jason Suecof, released August 2nd, via Nuclear Blast Records, available HERE.

Speaking about the tour, Alexis Mincolla of 3TEETH and Scott Ian Lewis of Carnifex are excited to team up together for Meta X. “We are a truly deadly combination of underground metal. Get ready for huge live production from all the bands on the bill along with extended sets. This Meta X tour is going to roll into cities like an industrialized war machine laying waste to everything in its path and you’re not going to want to miss it.”

WITHERED will be embarking on a European tour in January 2020 in support of label mates CANNABIS CORPSE. A full list of confirmed shows can be found below.  A big heads up to the metalheads across the pond, cuz you will not want to miss out on this disgustingly great package deal. Additionally, Withered  have released a pummeling and yet moody lyric video for their “Somnium Decay” track to mark the announcement.

WITHERED comment: “It’s been nearly a decade and a half since we’ve left the shores of North America. Withered has decided it is time again to get face to face with our fans & friends in the old countries of Europe. We are excited to share this massive effort with our friends in Cannabis Corpse and help celebrate the release of their new album. We have a very special set list planned that will undoubtedly dose our audiences with surrealism and a true darkened longing with music that spans our entire catalog to date. I’m excitedly nervous to reconnect so intimately with my roots and with friends we haven’t seen in nearly 15 years. It promises to be an awakening we cannot wait to share with everyone.”

“Somnium Decay” can be downloaded HERE.

Unless you are a huge snob with a giant stick up your ass, you can admit that In This Moment are one of the most enjoyable live bands out there with an over the top production and stage presence as well as huge sounding tunes that blow away most bands these days. You will always get your money’s worth and leave entertained. I would go see them basically anytime with zero hesitation. Maria rules and runs a great band.

Big tour announcement today for 2020 as In This Moment announce dates with the loved or reviled Black Veil Brides (guess what? They also rule, haters stay pressed). This is gonna be a bad ass and BIG tour. Ded and Raven Black are the lucky openers here. Get pumped.

Here is my fave In This Moment tune “River Of Fire” to satiate you until you go to this tour.

Here’s a little Black Veil also for you crying hardcore kid snobs. Hahaha. \m/

“As part of the “DILUVIUM WORLD TOUR”, OBSCURA return to Europe once again supporting “Diluvium” within 23 shows in mainly Southern Europe, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. With Dutch melodic death metal pioneers GOD DETHRONED, German black death metal heavyweights THULCANDRA and French progressive death metal newcomers FRACTAL UNIVERSE we hit the road in February and March 2020. We revised our setlist and perform songs we haven’t played in years as well as a few quite special compositions we never brought on stage before. Don’t miss this killer lineup, show up early to the shows and support all bands!” – Steffen Kummerer

DARKEST HOUR are one of the true believer standouts of metalcore who have weathered many storms, never got super huge but always put up a good fight, delivering album after great fucking album about society hanging on by tattered threads. A nine city co-headling West Coast tour with Unearth is coming up along with the European celebration of band’s 25th anniversary celebration (including dates with fucking Bloodlet, aghh!) – so much riffjoicing is in order. Sick poster by my friend Chris for the West Coast tour, I might add.

Offers DARKEST HOUR, “2019, we are not done with you yet. Just added some shows on the West Coast with our dudes in Unearth! We have seen all the amazing feedback from you all, and we have listened. Both bands will be playing FULL headlining, rip’n, face melting sets. We have had a ton of fun all over the world with Unearth and we are stoked to slide these dates in before the end of the year. We have some huge things in store for 2020 but if you live in these cities come out and party like its 1999 with us and Unearth!”

A month later, DARKEST HOUR will kick off 2020 with a return to Europe for a sixteen-city special 25th anniversary tour, where they’ll be joined by special guests Fallujah, Bloodlet, Une Misere, and Lowest Creature.

The band comments, “It is with extreme excitement that we announce what we hope to be one of many tour’s next year celebrating our 25th anniversary! Over these past twenty-five years we have toured with both new and established bands and have always worked hard to make our tour packages diverse and interesting. This tour is in keeping with that tradition. Fallujah is ripping progressive death metal who have had our attention for a while, can’t wait to see these riffs live. Bloodlet is a very special band to us. One of our early influences, it is EASY to say we would not be a band (or at least not the same band) without their influence. We grew up going to their shows and it’s a joy to be able to share the stage with them. We got to see Une Misere play this summer and were impressed, insanely heavy, Icelandic mosh of the highest form. Lowest Creature is a killer blend of classic metal elements we all love translated with a new and distinctly Swedish twist. Oh, and you know we will have a few surprises planned for this set special 25th anniversary set. See you in the pit!”

Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora is available on CD, black vinyl LP, picture disc LP, and all digital platforms via Southern Lord; find ordering options at the label’s webstore HERE, via Bandcamp HERE, and through all digital providers.

Immortal Bird reveal headlining end of 2019 dates

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 12:50 PM (PST)

IMMORTAL BIRD are very high up in my estimation for which bands made the best heavy record of 2019 and now they will close out the year with a stretch of North American headlining dates. The two-week run goes from December 7th in Dayton, Ohio and close December 20th in their home city of Chicago, Illinois. Thrive On Neglect is everything you loved about this band taken to the next level, a barrage of rough edged fringe genres and raw emotions honed to a more technically astounding attack that never loses heart, soul or fury for the sake of what good old arbiter of fine, rare metals Gollum would call tricksiness. I mean, they slay and can play. Ok?

Comments IMMORTAL BIRD vocalist Rae Amitay, “We’re stoked to finally kick off the touring cycle for Thrive On Neglect. This will be a great opportunity for us to play the full record in a bunch of cities we love before the year is over. There’s a lot more traveling in the works for 2020, too. Don’t tell my cats; they’re mad enough about this run.”
