Anicon, Yellow Eyes announce November European Tour

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:19 PM (PST)

Big news for European black metal fans who want the best the States have to offer! Brooklyn, NY black metal legion Anicon announce plans for an 11 day European tour in support of their critically acclaimed 2018 full-length album, Entropy Mantra (Vendetta Records). Anicon will join forces with NY black metallers Yellow Eyes (Gilead Media) for 11 days, beginning on November 8th in Cologne, Germany.

“It is our great pleasure to finally make our way to the European continent”, comments Anicon frontman Owen Rundquist. “We look forward to setting the countryside ablaze with our brothers in Yellow Eyes!”

Both of these bands have had a lot of hype around them the last few years, but it is decidedly deserved. If you are new to their sounds, don’t feel pressured but it is worth your time to immerse yourself in their works on your own terms. It will be an intense and wonderful experience that is sure to inspire. I really like the profound “Tarnish On the Emblems of Ardor” from the new Anicon. A title arguably that pretentious needs to be backed up and the band deliver to the max, bringing you firmly into their vision with metallic certainty of purpose. And Yellow Eyes, I personally think Hammer Of Night is a great place to start, a low key modern USBM album with a reputation that grows by the literal hour.

Tour dates:
Nov 08 – Cologne, DE
Nov 09 – Darmstadt, DE
Nov 10 – Paris, FR
Nov 11 – Manchester, UK
Nov 12 – London, UK
Nov 13 – Antwerp, BE
Nov 14 – Utrecht, NL
Nov 15 – Hamburg, DE
Nov 16 – Copenhagen, DK
Nov 17 – Berlin, DE
Nov 18 – Bratislava, SK

Demonical announce three-country European tour with Lik, Of Fire

Posted by Morgan Ywain Evans on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:55 PM (PST)

Swedish death metal act DEMONICAL have teamed up with their countrymen Lik (Stockholm-based death metal) for a tour of Europe including Poland, Germany and Czech Republic this November. The band will hit the road in support of their fifth studio album “Chaos Manifesto”, released in March on Agonia Records. The opening act will be Of Fire, a death ‘n’ roll  performer also from Sweden.

The new album from the band deserves more attention. So much good stuff has come out this year, but this is not one to miss. I am particularly fond of “Towards Greater Gods”, a full bore upper mid tempo thrill ride of all the things that make this band great.

DEMONICAL commented: “We are very much looking forward to November and our return to mainland Europe under the “Carnage Manifesto” banner. As we will be joined by our Swedish brothers in LIK and OF FIRE this tour-package will be something special, a total slap of Stockholm-style old-school death metal and a wet dream for every worshipper of the buzzsaw HM-2 sound! Death metal darkness prevails… and then some!”.

DEMONICAL + LIK + OF FIRE – Carnage Manifesto tour 2018
06.11 PL Poznan, Klub U Bazyla
07.11 CZ Praha, Modra Vopice
08.11 DE Mannheim, MS Connexion Complex
09.11 DE Bitterfeld, Festung
10.11 DE Hamburg, Bambi Galore
11.11 DE Osnabrück, Bastard Club

I am firmly in the REVOCATION have never musically let me down camp. I love every one of their albums and think they consistently knock it way out of the park. Now the band are headlining one of the pound for pound best tour packages of the Fall. As I sit here overworked/with my own frustrations, under-valued as a human being by society and with an ulcer likely widening into a gaping black hole as we speak, it gives me dark joy to know that death metal is wreaking unstoppable chaos across the face of the USA thanks to this band’s inability to be put back in the genie bottle. Support good bands (in any genre) that are making it work. It is hard to make it out there and while I may feel like a frustrated artist, it is fucking awesome that some brilliant bands are doing their own thing and managing to carry the torch for not the most popular of rock genres (though it perhaps ought to be).

Next week, REVOCATION will kick off their long-awaited North American headlining tour. The trek will begin September 17th and run through October 20th. Support will be provided by Exhumed, Rivers Of Nihil, and Yautja. See all confirmed dates below.

Denver doomers In The Company of Serpents welcome their newest member bassist bassist/multi-instrumentalist Ben Pitts (Vimana, Black Sleep Of Kali, To Be Eaten, False Cathedrals).

Vocalist/guitarist Grant Netzorg says of the addition, “We are happy to announce the addition of Ben Pitts to the lineup. [Drummer] Joe [Weller Myer] and I have discussed adding a multi-instrumentalist for quite a while, as we’re eager to broaden our songwriting options beyond the limitations of a two-piece. We’re in the midst of writing our next album currently, so the timing is perfect to welcome Ben to the fold. He’ll be holding down bass duties, while also contributing parts on lap-steel guitar and layering in other instrumental pieces that we’ve previously had to confine to the studio. This new chapter for the band opens a wealth of new creative possibilities for us, and we’re excited to give everyone a taste of this as Ben joins us on our dates surrounding Scorched Tundra Fest.”

8/30/2018 Lookout Lounge – Omaha, NE w/ Dopecorpse, Rift
8/31/2018 Hexagon Bar – Minneapolis, MN w/ Former Worlds

Warbringer announce new single & European tour

California thrashers Warbringer have announced that they are preparing to release a new single, “Power Unsurpassed,” digitally (August 17) and on Vinyl (August 24).

Vocalist John Kevill on “Power Unsurpassed:”

“We are putting out a single, “Power Unsurpassed,” so we have some new material for you all this summer, as we gear up to write and record our 6th record. It’s designed as a total neck-breaker, with hammering riffs and a shredding solo. It is about people who want to take orders from no one, and to make their will reality- at any price. We’ll be playing this when we return to Europe this month, at festivals and alongside Sepultura. It has been a good year since we invaded European shores, and as always we look forward to delivering completely savage live thrash metal to all in attendance. We will play a mix of material from Woe to the Vanquished, the previous 4 albums, as well as the new single “Power Unsurpassed,” which we expect will completely crush in the pit. There’s a mixture of club dates and festival appearances, but as fans know, Warbringer will bring total aggression to any stage, anytime, anywhere. Europe- You’re Next!”

“Power Unsurpassed” was produced by Mike Plottnikoff (In Flames, Fear Factory) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Slayer, Metallica). With the album artwork by Hugo Juarez.

California metallers High On Fire are preparing to hit the road with Municipal Waste this fall.

This tour will be in support of High On Fire’s new album Electric Messiah which will be released on October 5 via eOne.

The tour will also include Toxic Holocaust and Haunt.

“Man it’s gonna get crazy every night!,” says drummer Des Kensel. “Legends will be made on this tour! For after party info contact Dave Witte @ (804) 555-1212.”

High On Fire have also released a lyric video for the album’s title track. Vocalist and guitarist Matt Pike had this to say about “Electric Messiah:”

“I had a dream about Lemmy. When Lemmy was still alive I always got compared to Lemmy, so I had this dream where he got pissed at me. He gave me a bunch of shit, basically, and was hazing me. Not that he didn’t approve of me, but like I was being hazed. The song is me telling the world that I could never fill Lemmy’s shoes because Lemmy’s Lemmy. I wanted to pay homage to him in a great way. And it turned out to be such a good title that the guys said we should call the album ‘Electric Messiah.'”

Internal Bleeding announce new album ‘Corrupting Influence’

Posted by longhairedpoet on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 7:38 AM (PST)

New York death metallers Internal Bleeding have announced that their forthcoming album Corrupting Influence will be released on October 19 via Unique Leader Records.

Founding guitarist Chris Pervelis commented, “Corrupting Influence is filled with all of the gut twisting heaviness and groove you’d expect from us, but there’s also plenty of unexpected twists that take a listener to places we’ve never gone before. Additionally, the production is right where it should be — heavy as f*ck, organic and live sounding.”

Guitarist Chris McCarthy added, “I grew up as a fan of IB, so I put everything in my ability to make this the sickest IB album ever.”

The album was produced by the band alongside Joe Cincotta at Full Force Studios (Suffocation, Dehumanized) in Ronkonkoma, Ny, engineered by Cincotta, and features artwork by guitarist Chris Pervelis.

In support of Corrupting Influence the band will be going on tour in the fall as part of the Bloodletting North America Tour XII along side Decrepit Birth, Arsis, Pyrexia, Angelmaker, and Within Destruction.
