If you like your metal conceptually subtle but otherwise pretty much not subtle at all in any way, chances are you probably are a big Cradle fan. The UK’s favorite mischief makers summon the darkness once more with new album Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay. Their 12th offering in a long and storied career, it is surely one of the more anticipated records for the metal scene of 2017. September 22 is the official release date, giving you a full month to learn the lyrics before Halloween. Watch the video below to see Dani looking kind of like a Goblin King/evil deer hybrid in a snowy realm with the band and a pile of I think naked virgins? The production value all around is great and I love the melodic choral style vocals over the blackened speed charnal shred and Filth’s shrieks.

Band Spotlight
Escuela Grind is one of the most intense AND fun bands out right now in the extreme metal scene. Anyone who has seen the outfit live knows they put on a careening and death-defying show, blending elements of many of the heaviest sub genres into a world changing charge. It has been awesome discovering truly fired up and creative acts such as them, Habak or Hostilities this year, giving me hope for the next generation of ass kickers. When I heard Indoctrination I was hooked and feel blessed Escuela Grind were one of the first bands I caught live when shows revved up again. Long may they reign.
