Melodic death metal pioneers Dark Tranquility are returning with their new masterpiece Moment, which will be released on November 20th via Century Media. Listen to the first single “Phantom Days” here, which fuses their “their trademark blend of bright melodies and venomous evil,” as noted by Brooklyn Vegan. Elsewhere, Loudwire proclaimed that their “melododeath reign continues.”
Moment was recorded at Nacksving Studios and Rogue Music by Martin Brändström and then mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. The album sees the addition of two top-tier guitarists — Christopher Amott (ex-Arch Enemy) and Johan Reinholdz (Nonexist) to the band. It’s been four years since the Dark Tranquility released their last album Atoma, which was nominated for a Swedish Grammy Award. The band is considered one of the pioneering acts of the Gothenburg metal scene, which also includes bands such as In Flames and At the Gates.
