Italian power metal band Rhapsody of Fire and NWOBHM veterans Tokyo Blade have been announced as the latest bands added to the roster for Wacken Open Air 2011. Ozzy Osbourne, Motorhead, Judas Priest, and Children of Bodom are just a few of the other bands already confirmed for Wacken 2011.
Wacken Open Air festival began back in 1990 and has grown to become one of heavy metal’s largest and most respected festivals. It takes place annually in the small town of Wacken in northern Germany. During the 3 day festival concert goers typically camp on the grounds of the festival and revel in an aural assault from more than 70 bands from around the world.
Rhapsody of Fire is about to release their latest EP “The Cold Embrace of Fear” in North America on January 25, 2011 through Nuclear Blast Records. The band is also working on their next studio album “From Chaos to Eternity” due to be released in Spring 2011 also via Nuclear Blast.
