Death metal royalty CANNIBAL CORPSE have announced perhaps the most evil (yet fun) tour in modern memory in support of Violence Unimagined. I mean, holy frig – that is a stacked line-up.

A celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Metal Blade Records, the trek begins February 19th in Atlanta, Georgia and makes its way through over two dozen cities, closing on March 26th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Additional support will be provided by Shadow Of Intent. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 15th at 10:00am local time.

Comments CANNIBAL CORPSE’s Alex Webster, “We’re very excited to announce our first tour for Violence Unimagined as part of this amazing lineup with Whitechapel and Revocation. We can’t wait to get back on the road and be on stage again. See you all soon!”

Comments Whitechapel’s Alex Wade, “We are excited to get back on the road after two years of no shows and what better band to do it with than death metal legends CANNIBAL CORPSE. We thank them for bringing us along and can’t wait to see you all out there playing songs off our new album Kin.”

Comments Revocation’s Dave Davidson, “It’s been almost two years since our last show; needless to say we’re beyond excited to hit the road with CANNIBAL CORPSE, Whitechapel, and Shadow Of Intent this Winter. This tour will be an absolute banger; get your tickets now so you’re not left out in the cold wishing you were circle pitting with all of your friends”

Dee Snider reveals song with Corpsegrinder

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 5:37 PM (PST)

Metal icon Dee Snider has been spreading his wings into heavier territory in recent years, though he has always supported bands on the heavier end of the spectrum (think of that great Strangeland soundtrack-better than the movie!- that had Crisis, Bile, Clay People, etc.).

Dee Snider recently announced the upcoming release of his fifth full-length, Leave A Scar. Once again produced by Jamey Jasta, the outing will arrive on July 30 through Napalm Records. Big props to Jasta for getting what makes Dee tick so perfectly and being able to honor his legacy while actually helping add to it in a big new way! And huge props to Dee for not getting complacent like so many elder statesman of rock!

Today, Snider has unveiled the album’s second single, “Time to Choose,” which features guest vocals from Cannibal Corpse frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher. The song is rad heavy metal, though by George’s standards it is like chamber pop. That is no slight to Dee. The song rules. It just is way more on the heavy metal end of the spectrum than death metal and that is also fine by me. It is enjoyable and head banging will certainly ensue.

Dee Snider comments: “‘Time To Choose’ deals with a subject I’ve addressed often over the course of my writing career: good vs. evil (see ‘Burn In Hell’). Given the heaviness of this track, I felt adding George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher’s voice to this would drive home the seriousness of the choices we make. I was honored when he agreed to contribute his incredibly powerful voice.”

Good thing Patrick O’Brien wasn’t carrying skittles like Trayvon or he might have been in danger of being shot. Look, I love Alex – one of the absolute chilliest dudes in metal, and I feel very very bad for the rest of the Cannibal Corpse band right now. Right when they should be celebrating joining Slayer’s farewell tour some complete bullshit happens. I don’t know if it was a mental break or covering up some illegal shit in his burning home or Patrick was drunk or what, but initial reports say O’Brien’s house was burning down while meanwhile he was assaulting some lady and then hiding in a yard before charging cops with a knife. Florida does not look kindly on any of this but I can’t help but think of the utter hypocrisy of how this would have played out if O’Brien was black. I never want to hear another Trump bootlicking right wing metal edgelord say white privilege doesn’t exist ever again. Moronic.

I am wondering if dude had some illegal weapons in his house and bugged out and got mega paranoid and tried to hide nearby? Seems like a full blown panic attack and certainly doesn’t make a lick of sense.

Anyway, Cannibal are still obviously one of the best death metal bands of all time and are genre kings. What the fuck does anyone need to be doing wild ass antics like this for? Hopefully Patrick gets some help mentally because he has certainly ruined his life and is lucky to still be breathing. Damn shame. But why do cops not use tasers more often when someone is of a darker hue?

If you are the sort of person who doesn’t even feel squeamish or register an emotional shift when you see Nick from Fear The Walking Dead pushing a cart full of zombie heads, chances are you will feel a twinge of happiness in the bowels of your darkened soul pit as you hear “Red Before Black” by mighty death metal kings Cannibal Corpse for the first time. The song is probably their most immediate anthem of recent years since “Priests Of Sodom”, just an undeniable moment for the band from the opening note.

On November 3rd, kings of death metal Cannibal Corpse will release their 14th full-length, Red Before Black, via Metal Blade Records. This is their best album title in awhile. A Skeletal Domain was cool and all but the cover art was more haunting and didn’t really give the sense of mayhem as well as this cover. The title Red Before Black also just sounds like it is gonna be classic while having more imagination than, say, KILL. Hahaha.

For a first preview of Red Before Black, the band has launched a video for the single, “Code of the Slashers”. Directed by Zev Deans ( – who created videos for Behemoth‘s “Messe Noire”, Ghost‘s “Square Hammer”, Portal‘s “Curtain”), “Code of the Slashers” can be viewed at:

Listening to ball ripper “The Glowing Hate” from 2013 death metal masterpiece Aeons Black, I couldn’t think of a more deserving band than Östersund bad boys  Aeon to serve as support on the huge Cannibal Corpse/Behemoth tour just announced (dates below). The disgusting guitar tones, conceptual art and unique arrangements set Aeon way ahead of most of the pack and they are sure to give every crowd their money’s worth. Tommy Dahlström’s growl is pretty much unmatched. “Fiiiire walk with meeeeee!”

Cannibal Corpse discuss Russian tour repression

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 12:49 PM (PST)

Cannibal Corpse addresses Russian tour issues below. You will want to read this as it is ridiculous and only boosts ticket sales in other parts of the world, metal comrades.

Cannibal Corpse recently completed their tour of Russia, a place they have played previously played many times with no issues. Unfortunately, as many Russian fans are already aware, this tour did not go as planned. Cannibal Corpse has released a statement, which can be read below.

A message to our Russian fans:
As you all are certainly aware by now, our concerts in Ufa, Moscow, and St. Petersburg were cancelled. We were present in these cities and ready to perform each of these shows but were not permitted to. In Ufa the power was turned off shortly before the show (we were told because the venue was late on rent), and in Moscow and St. Petersburg we were told that we did not have the correct visas and that if we attempted to perform the concert would be stopped by police and we would be detained and deported (prior to the tour we had been told that we did have the correct visas and that all of our paperwork was in order).

Our show in Nizhny Novgorod also had problems. In that city we performed half of our set before being stopped by police. We were told the police needed to search the venue for drugs and that the show had to be terminated.

These are the reasons for the cancellations as far as we have been told.

On the brighter side, we had a fantastic time performing in Krasnodar, Samara, Chelyabinsk, and Yekaterinburg. We were able to play our full set in all four of those cities.

We came to Russia excited and prepared to play all of the scheduled concerts, and we apologize that we were not able to do so. It was beyond our control. We are extremely disappointed. We have played in Russia many times and we love our Russian fans. Hopefully someday the situation for us in Russia will be different and we will be able to return.

The 1:11 chainsaw to the zombie chic’s gut makes this whole experience worth it alone, but damn…Cannibal Corpse have done it again. A Skeletal Domain, their 13th LP, is the highest charting Billboard record in Cannibal’s gory history, landing at #32 in the Top 200 Chart for first week numbers. Remember, this is extreme death metal. There is a lot of pop and other crap to contend with and the Cannibal boys have done us proud.

Shit, I need to nap more often. I swear, I passed out and woke up in a stupor to late news of an impending Ministry “From Beer to EternaTour” (congrats to insanely great drummer AAaron Rossi on the impending birth of his kid) and a NEW Cannibal video!

If you can’t get enough of a desperate survivor going h.a.m. on some unruly undead, “Kill or Become” is for you.

Interview: Cannibal Corpse – Headlong into Carnage

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 3:52 PM (PST)

Paul Mazurkiewicz, drummer and some believe mastermind, of death metal kings Cannibal Corpse has done a lot in his lifetime. Now he can check being interviewed by Metal Riot off his bucket list. This is my second time interviewing someone from Cannibal for the site and the band always manage to startle me with their sheer professionalism, friendly attitudes and focus on often being the best Death Metal itself has to offer. I mention that A Skeletal Domain‘s cover art and album name, kind of like Evisceration Plague, creates a mood of entering a horrible world in some dark story.

“The title sets the mood, in a weird way. We wanted something that was gonna be more thought provoking, eerie, sinister, dark and creepy,” Paul tells me via phone.“We really feel we are working harder than ever at all aspects. Pat writing almost half the record. Rob, the two that he wrote are awesome songs, and the four that Alex did. They’re great Cannibal Songs. I don’t know what the answer is. It’s what we got. We got A Skeletal Domain. I don’t know if it is arguably our best work, but I feel that it is.”

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is much tastier than the drink it helps promote. This year’s line-up is pretty diverse, with everyone from Body Count (Muthafuckaaaa!) to Wretched (sure to own the Victory Stage), and fan faves Veil Of Maya, Korn and Suicide Silence. You’ve even got Cannibal Corpse and Avenged Sevenfold for as big a contrast possible! Mushroomhead, Trivium, Asking Alexandira, Miss May I and more ensure there is something for most people (except black metal fans). Still, Darkest Hour and Islander kick ass and c’mon, who doesn’t want to be entertained by Ice-T?

My girl caught me skeezin’, she said, I wasn’t shit
I said, “It wasn’t me, baby, it was the muthafucka, evil dick”
