Bask robbed just before coming home from Europe

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:57 AM (PST)

My O.G. friend Jesse’s band bask from North Carolina have been having a ball with High On Fire overseas, until last night. This blows goats.

We deeply regret we are forced to cancel our final show in Stockholm, Sweden tonight. Last night we were robbed in Gothenburg and all our guitars, amps & pedals were stolen. Below is a gear list of missing items. Please be on the look out. Any help is appreciated.

Bask stream “American Hollow”

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 10:12 AM (PST)

Carolina sex panthers Bask are streaming their full length stunner American Hollow HERE.

The American Roots music meets post-metal focus of this release, plus grand school of awesome graduate vocals from a deep thinker , make this a hell of a winner for 2014.  RIYL Across Tundras, Bob Dylan, Red Sparowes, Cult Of Luna.

You can get it free until the proper release on July 29th.

Post-metal with a pulse. Asheville, NC’s Bask are proving there is life beyond bands aping Nuer-Isis structures and forgetting to add the innovative spirit that made those legendary bands great in the first place. Tempo is not a genre unto itself. You still need great songs (check out Bask’s new single HERE).

My buddy Jesse Van Note is a former New York Stater and has since relocated southerly. Imagine my surprise when in short order the former bassist of NY rock n roll band Nothing But Wolves hit me up to say he was thrilled to be involved in a new project that he was really proud of. Entitled Bask, the group play a lively and lush mix of post-metal, hard rock, Americana and more…but the biggest element is heart.

In short order the group have already shared stages with Darkest Hour, Black Tusk and more, plus a pending date with Young And In The Way. This is a group that is coming out the gate busy and determined to make a mark. I like that and wish I could find a similar situation for myself, a band that wants to make things happen. You gotta work it to win it, kids.

The band lineup consist of Zebulon Camp (guitar and vocals), Scott Middleton (drums), Jesse Van Note (bass), and Ray Worth (guitar and vocals). Bask should appeal to fans of Across Tundras, Baroness or even Cult of Luna’s dreamier side, with just a great range of sounds under their belts. I cannot wait until you all can get a taste of their album rich American Hollow, out this summer.
