The Sword announce tour dates w Purson, Royal Thunder

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 10:00 AM (PST)

The Sword, Purson and Royal Thunder are arguably all bands with some of the most top notch actual “song writing” going on these days in rock and metal. They make other bands look foolishly outclassed, honestly.

You can pick up any album by The Sword and, like Fu Manchu, Zeke , Hellacopters or Karp before them, likely have your day straightened out.

See dates BELOW.

Jesse Leach of KSE keeps that PMA and got fans pumped today with a preview of new Killswitch. The lords of Metacore are part of a new Game Of Thrones mix and wrote a song for House Martell from the show and books, the southern kingdom of intrigue. You can hear the preview HERE.  It features the house motto of “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” in the chorus, which honestly sound like KSE lyrics already, haha. I am huge Killswitch fan and it sounds good, though The Sword still get most points for their GoT song from Gods Of The Earth about taking the black from before HBO even had a hit.

The Sword drummer leaves band; remaining tour dates cancelled

Posted by Lucas Riot on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 4:53 PM (PST)

The Sword's Trivett WingoAustin metallers The Sword have announced the departure of original drummer Trivett Wingo after 7 years with the band.  Both parties report that the split is an amicable one.  However this has also forced the band to cancel their upcoming US tour dates.  The band says they are working diligently to reschedule the cancelled tour dates.

Trivett Wingo released the following statement:

“It is with deep sadness that I am announcing my departure from The Sword. After nearly seven years and some of the most amazing adventures of a lifetime, I have arrived at a place where I am physically and emotionally unable to continue on as part of The Sword. If I could go any further, I would as I love the music and JD, Bryan and Kyle are people that I deeply respect, but I have reached a point where I just can’t do this anymore. I would like to thank the wonderful people who made this experience what it has been: the fans, the people that I have worked and all of the bands and musicians that have inspired me over the years. I thank you and apologize for any disappointment that this may cause anyone, not least of which The Sword.”
