We Need To Guide One Another Better.

Hey everyone.

The post flower moon vibes have been something else, huh? Can we please stop the massacres and disasterpiece human folly and just love one another?

Let’s start out today with this timely tweet from Max Berger re: Elon camping out with the Republicraps. Phew…it has been a week (and I do mean weak). At least I can spend time fan dreaming that She-Hulk, Daredevil and (especially) Jessica Jones might hang out and eat nachos together soon.

Anyway, we need to guide one another better. Pick each other up when we fall and not give in to our worst potentials. Not expect perfect victims. Have empathy.

What else…George Bush’s own mouth he slips and says that invading Iraq was unjustified …then everyone laughs. Dude is a war criminal. 1000s of dead Americans and Iraqis on his hands. Have some collective memory, America.

I have been defending Amber Heard from armies of utter TikTok morons the last few days, people who literally say things like ,”what power dynamics are there when anyone can call the cops and report abuse?”

Like, sit the entire fuck down already. Stan bullies who don’t respect boundaries and are falling for Putin lackey leaked curated talking points, wbk. I loved his movies too. It is utterly heartbreaking.

She never named him in the op ed. HE tried to get HER out of movies.

It is so so so easy to perpetuate hysterical women tropes before having all the information. Also, you’re full chest out thinking Disney and Warner Bros thought the face of their company should be a dude who calls women “gold digging/ c-m guzzlers” (who is on recording saying she didn’t want dime of his money and counter sued AFTER he initiated it)…and he boasts about sex with a Russian teen? Defends Roman Polanski. How is that or a massive spiral of drug addiction Amber’s fault?!

Maybe Disney wouldn’t care actually since they have basic overrated whataboutism edgelord Bill Burr in Mandalorian w every bro saying “ that’s my dog” while he defends Carano being anti Semitic on Twitter. I don’t want to hear any bullshit about Jason and Amber having no chemistry when Aquaman is literally the best DCEU movie to date.

So are we gonna power skip to MJ songs w Diddy and Morgan Wallen like morons as if nothing matters or are we gonna do any work to improve?

Other than that, been enjoying some Hekseblad and Vital Spirit tunes the last few days in between mindlessly singing When In Rome’s “The Promise”.

Anyway, utterly fuck the Daily Wire and any gullible shithead eager to join the ranks of their hateful disciples.

Amber has more than proven she deserves to win the trial vs. Johnny Dump (project your own fecal obsession much, diaper dude?) and it is revolting how people are pretending otherwise. This from a rocker who loved the Viper Room and Manson and yadda yadda Dead Man Jarmusch all that noise. Doesn’t mean I can’t notice when a former acting hero turns sour and abuses power. Real resorative justice is not played out like a revenge fantasy, public witch hunt that will affect whether SA survivors can speak out in the future as well. Lowering the bar for defamation suits so abusers with more power can weaponize the courts is not what a person who really gives a shit about anyone else would do.

In other bummer ass news, High On Fire’s Matt Pike is obviously a massively influential guitar God, but the lazy ass Icke fawning definitely was overdue for a great WTF piece like this reckoning. Matt, love you forever as a genuine hero to us all musically. Still, dude…please tone it way the fuck down and use this as a humbling moment to take the critique to heart. My own older sister got sucked into QAnon bullshit like this and when I showed her the origin links to the Anti Jewish and super bigoted Protocols of the Elders Of Zion conspiracy bullshit, she blocked me and hasn’t spoken to me… even since our mom died.

Don’t throw your meaningful role in the scene away to be another Iced Earth, dude. That already sucked enough for metal fans. There is a difference between curiosity or “free thinking” and questioning things or eating mounds of horse shit and then regurgitating it and focus shifting or downplaying the harm when people draw attention to it. That goes for Jon Schaffer or whoever. It reminds me of people saying “it isn’t that harmful” when I called out Brent from Mastodon for the F-Slur thing last year. Then I got a bunch of hate mail and saw comments mocking being respectful to queer people all over the internet because I cared about getting the band to apologize to the queer community. A band I loved, like High on Fire, Iced Earth, etc. for years.

Like Icke-stanning with the laziest of threadbare caveats, All That Remains or other band people similarly using F slurs and acting like it doesn’t matter is very privileged. Think of all the anti LGBTQ hate right now in this world and tell me it is overreacting to want people to be more conscious or not sound like 90’s jocks in the fucking alternative music scene of 2022.

Siri, play “Learn From This Mistake” by Down. Everyone listen and think about what it means to have a self reckoning. Yes, there are many reasons why I picked that song.

Sending love and healing to the Anathema camp today.

Lastly, CT is a safe state for trans rites and abortion refugees now.

Happy mental health month, assholes. Rock over London. Rock on Chicago.

PS…being out resourced doesn’t equate to justice.
