The drums sounded. The horns blew. Battle paint adorned, bladed weapons drawn, beer upon their breath, the tribesmen of Finland and their Norwegian allies charged through Chicago, laying waste to the those who sought to oppose them, raising their fists proudly in mutual purpose to those who joined them in the sounds and revelry of battle lust.

The Trolls zealously feasted upon the slain and fallen. The Forest Clan danced upon bloodied flesh and crippled bones. The Sword Bearers left nothing in the brutality of their crushing wake. All those who witnessed the carnage and what remained will surely remember the day Trollfest, Korpiklaani, and Ensiferum came marching through their town.

Ensiferum tour with Trollfest and Korpklaani

Posted by Andrew Johann Datoush on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:40 AM (PST)

Finnish folk metal titans, ENSIFERUM, will return to North America this Spring on a co-headlining tour with country-mates, Korpiklaani. Scheduled to commence on May 6th in Los Angeles, the band will level nearly two dozen cities with the trek coming to a close on May 29th in New York City. Additional support will be provided by Trollfest. The tour follows the band’s European march alongside Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum next month. Tickets are on sale today. See all confirmed dates below.

ENSIFERUM will be touring in support of their One Many Army full-length, set to drop in North America this Tuesday via Metal Blade Records. Crowned “warlike and fiery” by MetalSucks, ENSIFERUM’s predominantly analog-recorded One Man Army wields eleven stunning tracks of the band’s signature synthesis of Viking, folk and power metal swathed in fantastical themes of Scandinavian lore, captured by award-winning producer Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom, Impaled Nazarene, Entwine etc.) at Astia-Studios in Lappeenranta, Finland.

In anticipation of its release, the band recently partnered with Spotfiy to bring fans a stream of the record in its entirety. Hosted by Decibel Magazine, each day Spotify added an additional One Man Army track to their player leading up to the record’s final descent. Listen to One Man Army, now streaming in its entirety, at THIS LOCATION.

Trollfest begin recording a new album.

Posted by tyrusrunyan on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 9:46 AM (PST)

TrollfestNorwegian folk metal band Trollfest have begun recording a new album. The as of yet untitled album will be a follow-up to the bands 2012 release Brumlebassen and there is no word yet on the release date. The album will be recorded at Endre Kirkesola’s Dub Studio in Oslo and is set for release via NoiseArt Records.

The band stated the following about the album: “We will record eleven metal tracks and we also have a couple of acoustic songs up our sleeves, but at this stage obviously we are not sure which ones will make it onto the album. We will, however, be taking a slightly different musical direction with this album. The sound will undoubtedly be Trollfest, but it will vary from our last two releases. We will also be using a different studio this time. We have been more than happy with the Strand Studio who did an amazing job on ‘En Kvest For Den Hellige Gral’ and ‘Brumlebassen’, but we just wanted to get a different sound to match our new musical direction so we decided to use Endre Kirkesola’s Dub Studio in Oslo”
