Telekinetic Yeti, the Iowa-based duo of Alex Baumann (guitar/vocals) and Rockwel Heim (drums) who recently announced the upcoming release of Primordial (July 8, Tee Pee Records), have added several dates around their anticipated May 15 Desertfest NYC performance.

We are more than thrilled to be included on such a heavy festival featuring some of our favorite bands,” said Baumann of the band’s upcoming performance at Desertfest NYC. “And although we are looking forward to playing shows again in general, we can’t wait to perform songs off of the new album in front of a live audience.”

The band previewed the 11-song album with the release of “Ancient Nug” and its accompanying video (

Primordial was produced by Phillip Cope (Kylesa, Baroness). Album pre-orders are available now (, with the collection available on several limited-edition colored vinyl variants, CD and digitally.

Telekinetic Yeti’s debut album, Abominable, was one of the year’s most talked about debuts, with The Obelisk dubbing it the “debut of the year,” and saying “it could have been another band’s second or third record for the level of cohesion on display.” Metal Injection noted their “explosive live show” as tours with Clutch, Red Fang and Weedeater followed. With Primordial, the band takes their game to a whole new level. The album explores themes as diverse as evolution, sorcery, black magic and the contradictions of the gloriously uplifting yet simultaneously melancholic human condition.

BATTLE BORN announce EP re-issue and tour plans

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 7:24 AM (PST)

Following their recently inked deal with Prosthetic Records, Southampton, UK’s BATTLE BORN have today announced plans to reissue their debut self-titled EP on CD via the Los Angeles based label on May 6. Originally released in 2020, Battle Born serves as an introduction to the bands intensely fun brand of power metal. New material from BATTLE BORN will be revealed in the coming months.

Speaking on the reissue, BATTLE BORN comments: “We’re proud to be re-releasing our debut EP, Battle Born, via Prosthetic Records – with a fresh remaster and a brand new bonus track, Hammer of Might!  We wrote Hammer of Might in the same sessions as the other tracks originally released on the EP, so it seemed like the perfect inclusion for the first step on our new path with Prosthetic.”

EYEHATEGOD Spring Tour 2022 announced

Posted by Morgan Y Evans - Walking Bombs on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 7:06 AM (PST)

Gravel throated sewer blues pirates EYEHATEGOD have announced a string of dates (for after their Clutch tour) with an array of co-conspirators. The tour will be including Bat, Come To Grief, (who just announced their debut album) , Escuela Grind and Snafu. This will, to put it simply, ensure a killer combo no matter which date(s) you attend. Having recently seen Escuela Grind demolish a small crowd in Poughkeepsie, I can say that this is gonna certainly rule.

Presented by SWAMP Booking, the Berlin-based noise rock-meets-hard rock trio MAGGOT HEART have announced dates for the third leg of their 2022 “Zero Hour Tour”. This time it’s a slew of European summer dates co-headlining together with two of Norway’s finest: Okkultokrati and Nekromantheon.

MAGGOT HEART are also confirmed for this year’s edition of the legendary Roadburn Festival in the Netherlands. You can watch their performance for the 2021 digital edition here. The festival commented:

Their 2020 album, Mercy Machine catapulted them further forwards, in terms of songwriting and the impact that their gritty sounds have had on the Roadburn community. We can think of no better company than theirs to kick off Roadburn 2022. This is exactly the raw energy and pulsating melody that we’ve been craving during the barren months that we’ve endured lately.

Tuesday, January 11th, 2022 – Following the enormous success of their 2021 co-headline US tour, metal titans MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD have today announced the second US run of their aptly named METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR. Joining them will be special guests TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES. Tickets for the second leg of THE METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR, produced by Live Nation, will go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday, January 14th from

THE METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR was originally announced and planned for 2020 but was halted by the pandemic. Fans waited patiently for touring to return and in the summer of 2021 were granted their wish. THE METAL TOUR OF THE YEAR was one of the first national amphitheater tours to hit the road in 2021 and saw co-headliners MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD hit 29 cities across North America with special guests TRIVIUM and HATEBREED, who stepped in to replace IN FLAMES who couldn’t join the tour due to travel restrictions. The tour was met with enormous acclaim, truly living up to its name and playing to a whopping 172,000 metal fans in the process.

Speaking on the success of the initial leg of the tour and his excitement in hitting the road again in 2022, MEGADETH’s leader and frontman, Dave Mustaine says:

“The Metal Tour of The Year is exactly what it sounds like – a night of some of the best heavy metal bands in the world – live and loud. Anyone who came to a show last year knows what I mean, only this one’s going be even better. Do not miss out.”

Randy Blythe, inimitable frontman of LAMB OF GOD, adds:

“It was great to get out on the road for an incredible tour last summer with Megadeth, Trivium and Hatebreed so we figured we’d do it again! We look forward to hitting new cities with Megadeth, Trivium and In Flames, who we’re happy to have over for leg 2!”

TRIVIUM’s Matthew Kiichi Heafy adds:

“The Metal Tour Of The Year was one of the strongest, most incredible Metal tours in ages – it’s namesake nothing but accurate. How do you follow that up? By doing it again – even bigger, even better, and have it play everywhere it didn’t on the first leg. MTOTYII – let’s do this. “

With IN FLAMES singer, Anders Fridén stating:

”We are excited to finally be able to join our dear friends in Megadeth, Lamb of God, and Trivium on this year’s, Metal Tour of The Year! We can’t wait to be back on the road in America and to reunite with you all. Don’t miss this tour it’s a juggernaut.”

Produced by Live Nation, the second leg of this epic metal trek will kick off on Saturday, April 9th in Las Vegas, NV and hit a further 21 cities before wrapping in Allentown, PA on Sunday, May 15.
